Easy to read and understand.

This is hands down one of my favorite purchases ever. I’m so grateful I discovered it when I was just starting out with Tarot. The guidebook is the best I’ve come across for learning Tarot, and I use it almost daily. It provides in-depth explanations for each card, covering general readings, love/romance, career/money, personal/spiritual growth, and reversed meanings. It also dives into the symbolism in the artwork and connects the cards to numerology and astrology, which adds so much depth. The book begins with a wealth of information on understanding Tarot, performing readings, and ideas for spreads. The included Rider-Waite-Smith deck is also a fantastic choice for beginners. I highly recommend this set!

I'll admit I almost didn't purchase this book - I'm guilty of judging a book by its cover! But as I often do, I checked "Guided Tarot" out of the library first to see if I liked it...and I did! Each card in the Rider Waite Smith deck gets a 2-page spread featuring a full-color image and description of the card, key words of the upright and reversed meanings, then short paragraphs on how the card can be interpreted in different situations (love/romance, career/money, personal/spiritual). There's even a question to ponder and reflect on for each card, which I enjoyed the most. The box set also comes with a standard deck of tarot cards, all packaged in a sturdy cardboard box with a flip top. Several reviews mentioned that their box and/or book were received damaged. I'm happy to report mine was in perfect condition! This book is definitely a good addition to my growing personal library of tarot books. Good value as well! The book alone was about $10 at the time I purchased but for just $4-5 more I was able to get the box set with the cards too.

Learning Tarot. Got carried away with buying many books to learn to interpret. This book is ok, but like having replication of original RWS deck to add to my collection. I purchased two other decks with the keywords and interpretations on them. The card stock could be a little thicker but it's still good. Look forward to using the deck once I get off the 'training wheels' decks.

If you want to know your future and live a good life. If you prefer to stay in the dark then these cards and this book are not for you…

I'm not overly impressed with the depth of this book. I feel its designed to be a speedy read and therefor less of what I consider to be a guide. I'm still giving it 4 stars as when one is brand hew to learning tarot, too much initial information may be overwhelming. I do like that the card images are in color and I like the format but the written info is just really sparse and seems rushed. The book I used as a beginners guide was about 1/3 the thickness of this book yet I feel it lended more useable data. I mean really, only a couple really short paragraphs on the history of tarot even?? I'm upset because I bought this deck and book set for a friend who wants to learn tarot. I wanted her to have a near original style printing of the RWS deck and a good starting book. I'm learning reading Amazon's reviews is becoming less and less helpful as I can't seem to trust what I read. Instead of trying to save money which as I am poor, I had no choice in doing, I wish I could've bought a deck and a copy of Brigit Esselmont's Ultimate Tarot Meanings instead of this excuse for teaching material.

I gave this to myself. It is prepackaged in a sturdy box (as pictured). The book is very thorough. It gives strategies to understand and memorize the tarot cards gradually using daily readings. This set is a great tool for getting in tune with your intuition. The deck itself is standard and appealing, with clear details and bright colors. The book shows a large variety of layouts to use in readings. It also offers detailed analysis for each card as well as reversed meanings. It's extremely useful for someone just beginning to learn.

I am new to Tarot and wanted a book & tarot card set to get me started. I researched many books but ordered this one because I liked the simplicity of the layout and the clear, concise descriptions for each card. It also has explanations for how to use the deck including cleansing, shuffling, picking a card, what to ask, etc. All of it is presented in a very easy to understand and practical way that makes it a must for beginners. I appreciate the box it came in but unfortunately it didn’t protect the book from the corner being bent while in transit. I definitely recommend this set to anyone just getting started in tarot.
