Plenty of pearls
This set comes with bubble tea pearls in 5 flavors, 6 metal bubble tea straws (with a cleaning brush) and a bag clip (to hold the bags of pearls shut if you don't use them all at once). While cooking the tapioca pearls is relatively easy, it actually requires quite a bit of time, effort, and dishes. You need to boil them in lots of water for a while, move them to cold water in another bowl, then put them in yet another bowl with either sugar or honey that you provide, then add them to your tea (which you provide). The sugar or honey should probably be left to soak in for a bit, it will provide most of the flavor for the pearls (which really didn't taste much different from each other, regardless of "flavor"). The pearls have a pleasant texture, but bland flavor. Each pouch makes about 5 bubble tea's worth. The straws are great, the perfect size for the pearls, but if you like warm/hot bubble tea they aren't the best option because they get really hot. Fortunately the silicone top keeps your lips safe from getting burned. Still, hot beverages and metal straws are never an ideal combination. If you like cold bubble tea, however, they are awesome!

Save money 💲 by making your own boba
UPDATEI wonder if I had covid when I tried these originally. I had some today as we had company and they were awesome. I did sweeten them a little but the flavor was there. The aspartame in the 2 minute black sugar boba is still gross but the rest of the flavors are delicious. Apologies for my previous lack of taste!ORIGINAL REVIEW -----------------------------------------------------💦 BOBA TEXTUREThe texture of the boba was about as good as it gets for homemade boba. I can cook it more for soft boba or less for chewy boba. Turning off the heat of the cooking water halfway through ensured an even texture throughout. The texture is great.💦 BOBA FLAVORThe black sugar 5 minute boba is completely neutral - doesn't even taste sweet. The black sugar 2 minute boba contains aspartame 🤢🤢🤮🤮 so unless you enjoy old style diet soda drinks, those taste gross. The other bobas have very mild, almost imperceptible flavors. The way I boost the flavor is to scoop the boba out of the cooking water after the first half of the cooking time and then put them into a hot flavored syrup for the second half of the cooking time so that the boba soak up the flavor. If you put them in the brown sugar or flavored syrup or whatever after the cook time is complete, they will not absorb much.💦 STRAWSThe straws are nice. Having different color silicone tips is excellent for when you are making boba for multiple people - everyone can identify their boba by the color of their straw. The straw cleaner is handy but for that size of boba straw, I prefer a straw cleaner with a slightly larger diameter (which I already have so no big deal).💦 OVERALLThis is good boba if you don't mind flavoring it yourself. I'm a bit disgusted that the 2 minute black sugar contained aspartame. I was hoping that the flavored bobas would have more flavor but the texture is nice so I can work with it.

Great starter kit
If you’re looking for a starter kit to make your own boba at home this is a great option. The kit comes with 4 flavors: green tea, black sugar, taro, and lychee. The taro pearls are smaller sago size ones. There are 2 black sugar pouches, one that needs to be boiled on the stove, the other is more instant and can be boiled in a cup. The directions to make the pearls are easy to follow. They come out chewy and you can taste the flavor in them. If you like your pearls to be sweeter you can add sugar during the boiling process. The set also includes 6 straws and a straw cleaner. The straws are stainless steel and feel well made. Each straw comes with a silicone tip that's very soft. Both items are dishwasher safe. These pearls are the same ones you can find at your local asian grocery store so unless you need the straws, it would be cheaper to purchase the pearls elsewhere.
