Simple & What you need with Ring 2
I purchased a Ring 2 doorbell and installed it (hardwire) -- connected to an existing doorbell. My existing doorbell was a basic Nutone chime bell. The first time I clicked the button on the Ring 2 I heard a buzzing sound from the existing chime and then it fizzled out and the bell wouldn't work anymore. After doing some online research, this seemed to be a common problem with Nutone chimes with Ring 2s. So, I purchased this inexpensive doorbell , replaced the Nutone with this one and it works great. Nice , pleasant, loud (but not annoying ) ding dong sound. Sure, I could have used the Ring Wireless chime but I don't like that "electronic" sounding bell. The drill holes didn't quite line up with the Nutone holes, but no big deal. I am NOT a handy person at all but this was super easy to do. If you have a Ring 2 bell , rest assured that this doorbell will work well!

Works great with the Skybell - Manual Mechanical Door Chime
Bought this for my Skybell doorbell as I originally had a digital bell chime that requires an adapter for it to be compatible with the Skybell. I didn't want to bother with waiting for the adapter and wasn't comfortable with the reviews on the adapter with a digital chime. So I just replaced my chime box instead. This is a manual chime and works great with the Skybell. It was easy to install following the instructions. Easier for me because I only have one doorbell. If you have a Skybell this manual chime will work. You just have to disable the digital chime in the Skybell app. And it does chime with a "ding dong" not just a "ding" like in some reviews. I already have a transformer in my wall wiring. Works great and keeps my Skybell powered as well. No more issues like I had with my digital chime box like when I first installed my Skybell. Great price too. It's loud enough to hear around my entire 1800 sq ft house.

Good Replacement for Trine Chime
Very close match to replace the original Trine Chime and makes the same ding-dong sound. A ladder was needed but otherwise easy install. I thought the plastic screw anchors were a bit large or the screws were too small but they worked and unlikely the chime will get bumped mounted high in the hallway. One of the donger rods has a foam pad on top of it. It is not mentioned in the instructions so I wasn't sure if it was packing material or needed so I left it in. Chime works fine.

Not A Direct Replacement Chime
This Heath Zenith SL-2796-02 Basic Series Wired Door Chime, White is supposed to be a direct replacement for my broken chime with the same part number and identical external measurements. The new chime works very well and is loud and clear, as expected. My problem is that the mounting holes are about 1/4" narrower on the new chime than my old chime. In all other ways the old and new chimes look identical. If you are using this new chime as a replacement chime for a chime that has been painted around, mounting holes that do not align are a problem. My old chime was mounted in drywall using plastic anchors. If I use one of the holes on the new chime, the 2nd hole will not only not line up with the old second hole, it is too close to the old hole to put in a new drywall anchor. Since there was no room to drill a new hole in the chime plastic bracket I had to remount the new chime and touch up the paint. This was much more work than I had intended for a stupid mistake by the manufacturer. If the mounting holes had lined up properly I would have given this chime 5 stars but, since they didn't line up it was really 3 stars for my purposes, so I averaged them out to 4 stars.

Nice replacement
Nice replacement, easy install and even fits my comm puck from my doorbell camera. It does have a little smaller footprint so I'm going to have to paint around it.

Good product...in theory
I recently moved into a new home and had some work done. The workmen couldn't save the old doorbell chimes so I tried to put up a new one. I ordered this from Amazon and got it in no time. It's pretty fool proof...or so you'd think. I followed all of the directions but directions do no good when you are trying to use modern technology with 1950's wiring. Sure, it's not necessarily the fault of this chime, but it's supposed to be a compatible technology. The ultimate problem: The bell won't disengage. It sounds great the first time, but it becomes useless after that because it's constantly stuck and humming. Maybe it's just a faulty unit. Either way, I rate it at a neutral rating.
