Q: How long does it take to charge?

I can't answer exactly but I put mine up mid day when I got them they last all night every night since I put them up. They seam to charge fast.

Q: Will remote turn it on without motion ?

Yes….you can turn on/off or even change mode of lighting with the remote control. Mode #2 is my best option….30% lighting all night and 100% lighting with motion. The remotes are one per light set but are interchangeable. Any one will will act on each light that you have.

Q: can they be set to stay on, rather than motion detection ?

I believe that there is a dim setting that allows them to stay on continously. There should be 3 modes: off to on upon detection; low light to bright light upon detection; stay on low light. I have had these over a year now and been very impressed with how well they work. Just ordered 4 more. I use them around my property as well as putting them in my horse riding area.

Having bought 8 of these lights, I would totally recommend them. I received 2 lights that were damaged in shipment and notified Amazon. They assisted with the replacement units with no problem. I have noticed that a couple of units will change the operating mode for no reason. Resetting the mode is all that it takes and appears to work well. Also place each unit in an area that gets direct sunlight. FYI, I have 4 acres and have placed the units on trees about 9 ft above the ground. Works as advertised.
