Recommended for the highest quality work Outstanding gloss retention and all around durability Considered by its many users to be the most durable varnish ever offered the boating trade Contains UV absorbers and filtersThinners: 1015 Captains Varnish should be brushed at package consistency. If thinning is required to improve flow in hot weather, use T-10 Thinner sparingly. For spray application, it may be necessary to reduce up to 10 with T-8 Thinner. Excessive thinning increases chances of thinner entrapment resulting in wrinkling.

Good product
Very nice, Apply thin coats, and you end up with a beautiful, fairly glossy, finish, without sanding.

High tendency to trap bubbles and leave a rough surface.
dedicated paint area/room, clean high quality varnish/finishing brush, about 70 degrees, filtered through cheesecloth, and still just rife with bubbles that left a less than smooth finish. I have done this on my wooden kayak several times over the years and never had this problem. Not saying it is not my fault but I sure am baffled at this outcome.

Excellent product! Just as advertised. The key is to apply it in cool temps and to thin it.

Looks great, easy to work with
Easy to work with brought out the Grain and colors of the door amazingly. Very happy with this product. Multiple layers a MUST!!
