The Ex-Husband: An absolutely gripping psychological thriller with a killer twist Paperback – 23 Jun. 2022

I enjoyed this book but it annoyed me and because of that I nearly put it down. It was easy to get into but the ex husband was doing my head in but I can honestly say when I had finished reading the book I thought it was a good book.

Having read previous releases by this author, I had high expectations for 'The Ex-Husband.' Samantha Hayes has the skill to engage her readers from start to finish, and this latest release is no exception. This was everything I was hoping it would be and much more.With a captivating, shocking beginning, through to the dark, tense conclusion, this is a great read for psychological thriller fans. Filled with powerful and dramatic scenes, this twisted storyline is very impressive and became a quick read for me, as I struggled to put it down!Superb characters, created with depth, and realism, this may be an unpopular opinion, but my favourite of all of them has to be Craig. I enjoyed being able to scrutinise his personality and character as he exhibits more disturbing behaviours than most, he became the character that I simply loved to hate. All characters are extremely well written, adding to the appeal and entertaining element of this read.I recommend this to all fans of this genre, and if this author is new to you - you are in for a treat!

From the beginning this book draws you into its convoluted plot and then carries you along a fast flowing stream of doings until suddenly you reach a precipice and the resulting waterfall of events with protruding rocks that suddenly change the course of its flow into a spiral of 'wow I didn't see that coming'.

Bought for my holidays in Aug. I couldn’t put it down. Brilliant read, although the ending was a little bit of a let down.

A steady read with a good story line and twist at the end

I really didn’t think that I’d finish the book as it made me so angry! I hated Craig and felt helpless for Leah - I just wanted to throw the book across the room. I stuck with it though and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was gripped by this book and enjoyed it however as it went on it was becoming a little predictable hence the 4*. There was a twist that I didn’t expect so that was a nice surprise.

This book was a nail biter from beginning to end. I enjoyed it. The twists and turns were unpredictable. This was my first Samantha Hayes book and I'm looking forward to more.

So many twist and turns I dont know where to start. A controlling mean bully of a husband that the world including your Mother thinks is a saint. You are finally able to break free and than accused of your X husbands murder....only to be pulled back in again. Will it ever end?

Got tired of reading about 2 adults acting like children. Didn't read all chapters. Slipped 2 last 5 chapters to see how it ended. Ending just as bad.Would not recommend.
