The product page unfortunately isn't entirely clear on the difference between the 250g and 500g versions. ONLY the 250g is gluten free, as you'll see in the ingredient photos in this review. You'll also see there appears to be a small difference in the other ingredients, and the two versions do taste different as well. I don't have a preference for either as both taste excellent. A nice fermented flavor with a pleasant heat, which makes it perfect for dishes where you want lots of flavor without the heat of gochujang. Unfortunately with the GF version being the smaller package the unit price is way higher, and I wish they made a 500g GF version.

It's delicious taste, a bit salty for eating together with vegetables.

I like the product but it's not the same I was looking for

Its yummy. I really can't say much other than that. Goes good with everything, unique flavor nodes.

I was surprised to eat another ssamjang that I bought in a hurry at a nearby mart a while ago. It was really tasteless and did not taste like ssamjang. I, I really like ssamjang with pork, was very disappointed and very upset that I couldn't find the true taste of ssamjang in the United States. But I found this ssamjang on Amazon, and it soothed my upset! Perfect Korean taste! It's so delicious. My American friend also tried it and was surprised to ask about this ssamjang, and she bought it too! It tastes amazing!

This paste is really good with Korean BBQ, just like at the restaurants. Price wise, I don't know how it compares to local Korean markets since I don't live near one anymore but I think it's around the same price.

I was dying to try this after seeing the YouTube channel Korean Englishman. I’m off put by the darkness of the product compared to what I see other customers received from Amazon and the times I’ve seen this used on cooking shows. Though it’s not expired, I tend to think that somehow, the vacuum seal was breached. The container itself had a scrape on it. It doesn’t taste bad, but the fact that I’m apprehensive to use it because I’m 90% sure the seal broke? Bummed. Not sure if that’s a factory issue or an Amazon issue or neither, but the product appears to have been handled in a way that broke the vacuum seal.

Presque qu’aussi bon que dans mon restaurant coréen préféré, qui prépare cette sauce avec de la patte de haricots noirs et de la sauce piment.C'est d’ailleurs le resto qui me l’a conseillé !

This does what it says on the pack. Can be used as a dipping sauce or a flavouring in a stir fry. It is not too hot and has a slightly salty flavour. It is perfect for vegan and vegetarian cooking as well as meat recipes. My one reservation is that it does create quite a lot of foul smelling gas in your stomach as soy beans tend to.
