Won’t turn on
Bought this during prime day for when my baby starts eating solids. So, the day was today, and I opened the box, wash everything and start cooking, and it won’t turn on…Bummer I bought it a month ago and cannot return it. So, each our for that!

Great for steaming, blending small amounts of food. Luv the all-in-one design.
I tried this machine because it looked like the ideal solution to making small amounts of food that are too small for using regular appliances and/or pots and pans in the kitchen. To my surprise, it worked like a charm.Keep in mind, this machine cooks by way of steaming; it does not boil the food. The steamer basket is an integral part of this machine. There are two basic parts of this machine: the boiler, and the blender. Here is how it works:Add water to the boiler section.Add food to the steamer basket which fits into the blender section. Close the lids on both the boiler and the blender sections.Press the start button; select the program; press the forward arrow button. The machine will begin cooking (steaming) the food.Once the program is done, open the blender lid (be careful of steam), pour contents into blender, then press blend, either automatic or manual mode. The whole process takes about 15 minutes for most vegetables, and the best part is you just need 1 appliance!I should mention the programs this machine has. There are 4 basic programs: Steam, Warm, Sterilize, Bottle Warmer. Each are, imo, different flavors of the basic steaming program. Default time settings for the first 3 programs are 10, 15, and 5 minutes, respectively. The bottle warmer is slightly different. You place the bottle directly in the water reservoir of the boiler part of the machine. The default temperature setting os 40C. You can reset it to any temp in the range of 37C to 50C (98F to 122F). The warmer will stop when desired temperature is reached. It is an open air process, unlike the steaming, which is ‘enclosed’ but with vent spout. Once the food is cooked, lift the steamer basket, transfer food back into blender, place cover and latch it, then press blend. You can choose from automatic or manual blend. Automatic will run the blender in spurts, for total time of 1 minute. Manual blend works by pressing the manual button for the desired duration. Keep in mind you need enough liquid so the blade is immersed. It turns out to be approximately 50-70 mL required, but will vary on how much liquid the food releases during the steam cooking process.Luv the all-in-one design, ease of use, and ability to make cooking small amounts of food seamless and nearly turn-key.I have cooked carrots, peas, leafy greens, green beans, eggs (poached and custard) and oatmeal. For the eggs and oatmeal, you will need a container that fits the steamer basket. I used a tempered glass jar with straight sides and diameter under 3 inches. Place the glass jar in the steamer basket, then preheat the assembly for 5 minutes. Place 1 egg (for poached egg) in the glass jar, close the blender lid, select the steam function, and press fw arrow to start. It makes a tiny beep sound when done, along with a double zero “00” on the digital display. I usually let it steep a couple minutes before opening, just to avoid steam burns and to allow food to cool just a little. Remove glass container with tongs. Similar procedure for egg custard, except beat the egg before adding to the glass jar. For oatmeal, best to use quick oats. Add oats to glass jar, then add boiling water in the proper proportion, stir briefly to break up any dry spots, then cook (steam) to desired texture. Ten minutes is usually enough for softly cooked oats that dont have any hard bits to chew. The overarching question is, Do you really need a machine to make baby food at home? Not really, but this machine makes a busy life easier, with less clean-up, less scorched food because the pot/pan is too large for the amount of food prepared, and fewer appliances needed. If your life is buusy and hectic, this machine will save you time and effort.Bottom line: I recommend for anyone needing to make small amounts of food in one fell swoop.

The lid
This blender was nice for some time. I love the settings and design. One problem which is a major issue. The lid will simply not turn all the way. Over time it became difficult to turn, then nothing. No budging , no nothing.. meaning the blender is useless. The blender will only turn on, if the lid is completely locked in place (makes sense).

Got a defective one
I think I got a defective one since it wont work at all. The lights would turn on when you plug it in but no matter what button you press, it just wont do anything.

Makes homemade Baby/Toddler food a breeze
This is perfect for my 1 year old, we used it to steam and purée fresh vegetables from both the store and our garden. Now that she is off of puréed foods we are still able to use the steam function for all of the vegetables that she eats. This steamer comes with a quick guide to help with times different fruits or vegetables steam for. The purée function is very nice because the steamer drops the exact amount of water needed to purée during the steam cycle so you can just drop the food down into the blender portion and start puréeing. The purée function is also automatic so you just turn it on and it blends it to perfection.
