Légère Reeds - Tenor Saxophone Reed, Classic, Strength 3.00 (TS3.00) - Premium Synthetic Woodwind Reed

I had to order this standard cut (I prefer the American cut for my punk/ska/surf sound) as the other Tenor 2.0 reeds I ordered off amazon turned out to be alto 2.5's.This reed came very quickly, well packaged, and worked out fantastic for my show.It actually held up to the "bite squeal" thing I do way better than some of the signature cuts, which tend to not hold up so good with that "technique".

I am using synthetic reeds for the fist time after 54 years of using cane. It takes some getting used to but seems to respond well in all registers. It is difficult to know what strength to use. I usually use a 3 1/2 cane reed, but have to use 2 - 2 1/2 with the Legere.

I love Legere reeds. Have them for my clarinets, saxes and bassoon. The buyer needs to clearly understand what they are. In my opinion they are the best available synthetic reed and are indistinguishable from a cane reed by the listener. However choosing the proper strength reed can involve trying several reeds, something best done at a dealer's as returns may not be possible. Just taking a shot that a #3 legere will be the equivalent to a LaVoz medium hard (for example) is likely to disappoint. Legere reeds cannot be scraped or adjusted. If one has never used a Legere before I recommend reading the literature available on the Legere web site (Google is your friend).

This is the best synthetic reed I've tried. I use Legere on all my saxes - alto, tenor, and bari. It's so convenient to not have to wet it or worry about it drying out or warping on you at a gig like a cane reed will do. There are differences in the tone compared to a good cane reed but these differences are pretty subtle - not noticeable by the listener. But as a player it has a little different sound and feel to me. I'd say it's not as warm sounding as a good cane reed. I do recommend legere, I only wish they weren't so expensive!

My husband was a symphony member, had his own big band, etc. and was determined he didn't like plastic reeds. A friend talked him into trying Legere. He uses them now on both alto and tenor sax. Super great since we retired to Colorado and often 10% humidity. He can play saxes and clarinet one after the other without wetting reeds.

I originally ordered the 2.5 which was to rigid for me. I contacted Legere and they exchanged it for a 2.25 Signature series. My sax teacher was surprised with the tone and clarity of a synthetic reed.

Sono rimasto sorpreso da questa ancia sintetica che avevo preso solo per curiosità pensando di fare un buco nell'acqua invece adesso non mi trovo più così bene con le ance tradizionali in bambù, forse anche perchè le precedenti erano leggermente più morbide, infatti la durezza 2 delle Legère corrisponde secondo me a qualcosa più del n.2 riferito alle ance Rico. Il suono non è così scuro, come indicato nelle caratteristiche in confezione, anzi appare abbastanza brillante, ma contenuto e in po' nasale (molto probabilmente dipende dall'imboccatura) e la trovo facile e responsiva da nell'emissione. Forse avrei dovuto comprare 2 o 3 confezioni di ance tradizionali per arrivare a trovarne una così. Ho sperimentato che con un'ancia giusta i progressi sono più rapidi e lo studio diventa più piacevole. Ora non mi rimane che provare il tipo Legere Signature che dichiara di possedere caratteristiche meno "classic".

Finalmente un ottima soluzione per pensare a quali note suonare piuttosto che se l'ancia è in buono stato o se è umida!!
