What a sound!
I am a 51 years old music lover who wanted to get something close to what I grew up with back than, namely a decent (possibly A/B type) amp with a decent enough power (back in that time was a 70 Watts/speaker) output for a medium sized room in my house. Plus the "wife acceptance factor" had to be calculated into the deal since I knew that beforehand that I was not gonna be able to place a full size (nor did I really want to) system for thousands of dollars and a tall, space demanding floor standing speakers anywhere in the living room. We have the space but.....okay, I was about to downscale my dreams of having something small but still pristine/stellar sounding. Even though I have found so many great and well priced amps and bookshelf speakers on the market from all directions of the world that could have made a close to perfect match in heaven for my needs, I decided to give a chance to this little beauty after a long debating with myself. The debate was all about the size and not at all about the brand (Denon is still undeniably one of the top consumer amp makers....) because I was concerned about the size of the speakers. Okay, 30 watts per channel is a good enough output, I really did not need anything over that level of loudness. But will it sound full and clear with the small pair of speakers it comes with??Yes, it is good enough!!!! Clear and lush! Sounds so lively and distortion free even at a really high volume that is just stunning. It is a system for anybody who wants to have a stellar sounding unit while saving a lot of space and an equally great amount of money. Some people switch the speakers out for a bigger bookshelf or standing speakers with all the success. I think I'm gonna stick to the original speaker pair but in the future I will add a smallish subwoofer to the sound just to have that extra bass oomph to torture my family with. Honestly, when I listen to electronic music (I listen to anything and everything) , most of the time I don't feel the need for any extra bass because those really deep base of the songs from this genre of music doesn't cry for anything else on top of the bass reflex boxes can produce. But when it comes to a little bit less bass accented mixing of some of the older records now that's when I feel like a little extra lower frequencies would not hurt the sound as a whole. It is an incredible value for this very well made and stellar sounding Mini System!!! Highly, highly recommended!

Excellent sound quality in a compact size!
Very easy to set up and love the compact size for my small living room bookcase! Excellent sound quality and ease of use. I primarily wanted a CD player for classical music CDs and I am not disappointed with the sound quality!

Tuner is very iffy - goes on the blink daily
Good morning - thank you for following up.To answer your questions :1. I purchased the Denon RCD M41 hoping to replace the faithful Bose Wave system (2006/2007 model) in our bedroom.2. The Denon M41 CD plays fine, disk after disk. Similarly the Bluetooth connected iPhone. No issues. When I use the tuner, it would play fine (really beautiful rich sound, solid reception) for a while, and then when I get back to the system it is silent, just sitting there, still displaying the preset station etc, but no sound. The tuner display will show the tuner hunting for a stable "station". I would change the channel, and it may or may not play. Switch back to CD - no problem. Typically this error does not switch off the unit, but it has once or twice completely gone red light shut down on me. Not typically though. I did the reset procedure once or twice and reprogrammed the presets. Error is there, intermittent - happened again last night. The system is well ventilated, not an obvious issue regarding overheating. Don't get me wrong - when it plays, it sounds great - but the tuner is not happy. It picks up interference from internal circuitry or from the environment. And this is the exact same spot where the Bose performs well, no interference on the Bose tuner.I was so looking forward to enjoying the Denon M41 system - but this is a big disappointment. Will have to investigate how to return this product and reinvest in a new Bose.

Hands down the best stereo I have ever owned
I can't get over how good this thing sounds. Every song I've put in so far sounds better than I have ever heard it played, whether it was on Spotify or when I was a kid playing a CD on some cheap stereo. This thing is pricey, but it's worth it and still cheaper than building components. It's heavy, which is good, less cheap plastic parts. It's NOT made in China, which is awesome. It's a good name brand, rather than some weird name you've never heard of outside of Amazon (like Tiamboy). My only complaint is that there is no Eject button on the remote. I don't know why they left that off. The remote is huge and full of buttons for things I rarely use, why leave that out?But the sound is the best feature. Bass is perfect for my needs, not too much, not too little. You can even add a subwoofer. Highly recommended.

Very nice mini HiFi with great sound
I have Panasonic SC-PMX9 and decided to get this one too, because of quality and ability to add subwoofer. Overall sound is good, but not soo much better than SC-PMX9. Denon has a bit more bass and plays CDs better than Panasonic, but later has better dynamic range at higher volume. The sound fills nice size room and with small subwoofer it should sound much better. Quality is great, controls are sturdy and build quality is incredible. Very easy to use and operate.Pros: Compact Size, Quality of materials, sound, value.Cons: Sound distortion at higher volume limits, no USB portI definitely recommend this for mini HiFi lovers. It really makes much bigger sound than it is, but you have to move speakers away about 5 feet to sound good and place against the wall, so you get deeper bass.
