Great little recorder
Really a great little device. Works great for recording/playing back video surveillance cameras. I like it so much I bought a second one. You won't go wrong with this,.

Too many shortcomings
Inexpensive and lots of storage, but there are a number of drawbacks:I am always looking for a DVR that records video that is easily downloadable and in a format that other software can easily read. This DVR does meet those criteria, however has a number of shortcomings:1.) Compression was poor on the testing I did. VGA quality video at 15 fps was using close to 1 GB per hour2.) Not possible to set a recording schedule.3.) If you go into the menu, the DVR stops recording until you exit the menu.4.) Impossible to adjust the frame rate other than through the resolution. (Settings are 15 and 30 fps at 720x480, 640x480, and 320x240. There are no image quality settings.)5.) There is way to determine how much space is available while the DVR is recording. The Secumate Mini-DVR is a better DVR, albeit at a higher price. This is not currently available at Amazon, where I have bought several, but is still on Ebay. .

Great for simple basic surveillance
Great for simple basic surveillance. Great for portable surveillance as it will operate from a 12 volt battery for a long time. Just what I needed.

only TF2 records,
Both TF1&2 have 64GB cards, formatted in DVR, but only TF2 records, does NOT record on TF1,Cards have been reversed and formatted, but still will not record on TF1/

After commanded to stop recording it would only stop for a few seconds and then begin to record again. One time it wouldn't power down even after I removed the power for more than 1 minute.
