Pros and Cons of this monitor
PROS:The benefits of this monitor is that it's 1080P, the pan feature (350 Horizontal & 100 Vertical) and zoom feature work great and has a nice wide view (just move your finger across your smartphone screen and the camera moves, it's very cool), the app is simple to use (setup is easy) and the video quality is excellent including night vision, in addition you can put in a micro SD card to record everything onto it (and it automatically loops). All these are great advantages that some of the expensive ones don't even have. However, I gave it a one star because of some serious drawbacks it has:CONS:1) The WiFi connectivity is terrible. It either goes on and off, or it just doesn't connect at all! (Btw, many other companies have this problem, including high end company baby monitors, such as iBaby or ArloBaby etc, I've seen many complaints about this with various other companies too.) This problem & annoyance can not be stated enough.2) There is no battery backup. Meaning it's powered by a plug only (no battery). (You might not care about this, if you do, though, note that many other companies don't either have the battery powered option either, only a few do. In addition to the portability, a huge benefit of having a battery (with plug) option is that you don't have to reconnect the camera to your WiFi each time you move it.)3) The sound quality is very poor. Meaning the max volume is pretty low, if someone is a having a calm mild conversation you won't really hear what they're saying.4) This monitor only sends you alerts when there's a motion, not when there's a sound. So if let's say your baby starts crying or a big noise erupts, it will not alert you, it will only alert you if there's a motion. (I noticed afterwards that most of the cheaper models under $100 also only offer "motion" detection, but not "sound" detection.)5) From the very first time I used it, the camera became very heated, and the platform it was resting on became heated too. (Even after 20 minutes it was already hot.) I was afraid to leave it plugged in for too long because who knows what may happen.6) There were two annoying parts about the app (although the app is great and easy to use), one was that the default setting (-each time you opened up the app) it was muted, so you have to manually unmute each time you open the app in order to hear sound. Secondly, the "mic" on the app (to utilize two way audio) doesn't always work, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.Honestly, being that I paid only $50 I was going to rate it 4 or 5 star because you can't expect it to have all the features an expensive one has (plus there are great benefits this monitor has as I mentioned above). However, what made me give a 1 star was the WiFi connectivity issue and the overheating issue. Those two issues were fatal to me.I can only speak for my experience. Maybe others didn't have these issues, who knows😉Feel free to leave your comments below.

No more, no less, this is exactly what a great camera should be!
Disclaimer: as a technology savvy person, I know how things work (at least in theory). I build software, I play different kind of gadgets. In term of surveillance camera (and baby monitors) I understand the technical limit and how they should operate at different price level. From my perspective, this camera provides just right set of features to make it useful, but no more fancy things that cost money but you will never need. It is worth every cent you spend on it.My use scenario is not to monitor my baby (they've grown up), but my door entrance and how my kids run wildly in the home.Compare it with another product that I own, a famous brand door bell, which is essentially overpriced camera. The picture quality is so much better. I am stunned that with such a good price (with coupon) -- let's be honest what can you expect for 30-40 bucks? -- the view angle, the details in the video, and smoothness of motion pictures over internet are totally beyond my expectation. And it can go up and down, left and right, which is why my kids call it a robot. Compare with this, the smart door bell is only used as a bell plus camera but it doesn't move and I can barely recognize what the guest is!The night vision is cool. Infrared light seems powerful to clearly see everything that I need. I didn't expect that level of clarity (thought only pricey ones could do this). In addition, the two-way audio is fantastic! I use it as a private video phone between me and kids, free of charge!Installation is very simple. MIPC app is simple to use, follow the instructions and the camera is ready to use quickly. The way to use audio to send config data from phone to camera is a great idea, I must admit. After the installation, I can see the video from either app or web, which is convenient.I have yet to try store videos in micro SD card. Once I find a great deal during BF I will give a try. So no comment on that.In summary this is a great camera with good quality. At this price level (with coupon), it's like a steal.

A little bit tricky to set up. There is an instruction at one point to look for alternating red and green lights. I discovered you need to turn the unit upside down and look through the vent to be able to see the green light and you you need to click "next" pretty quickly after you see it beginning to flash or the setup may not work and you need to start all over again. The camera will work on mobile data connections on your phone or on wi-fi at another location as long as you sign on to the wi-fi using the password for wherever you are. My wife used it to check on our house in Florida from Missouri. Resolution is pretty good and the unit works in color if there is sufficient light. By the way - That thing in the photo that looks like a monitor screen is actually your cell phone. The unit DOES NOT come with a little hand held screen. The photo on the website is confusing on that score. The $39 unit is exactly the same, just lower resolution. The speaker allows the person at the camera to hear quite well but the reception at the cell phone end is useless

Great camera
Love this camera. I purchased the 1080 because I wanted a clear picture. I use it as a baby monitor. I used Command strips to mount it above the crib because I didn't want to drill holes. it's awesome to open the app on my phone and see my baby even if someone is baby sitting her at night.
