Best keyboard i've ever used... wouldn't change it for anything else... ever.
I suppose the main criteria for satisfaction with a keyboard, as well as a mouse, is personal preference in nature. While one reviewer might find this product reprehensible, others may find it indispensable. I find no objection in either opinion. For me, i particularly like the position and size of the keys, and the touch of this keyboard. So much so, that i have the same one on both my desk top computers, and probably will order one or more soon as backups in case they may no longer be available as a new product to purchase on Amazon.Let ma also say i prefer a wired keyboard because i was experiencing dropouts with a MS wireless keyboard on the number pad, where it would ignore key presses and drop out numbers. These omissions cannot be detected by spell check. I'm preparing tax returns for clients, and each digit is critical. the tax program has no error detection capabilities where discretionary numbers are concerned, so dropouts are intolerable errors in tax work. i found no dropouts with a wired keyboard, and i also have the benefit of scroll-lock, num-lock and cap-lock LED indicators with the wired version, absent on the wireless version. The keyboard is the item that is the main interface between my mind and my computer, so the least amount of effort and attention to this means of communication, the better the link and the less attention invested in fighting the tools, to better put that attention to solving the problem at hand. This MS 3000 keyboard is my tool of choice, and i'm pretty set in my opinion about this, which is why i've paid more than usual for this keyboard by far, and will buy another as a spare when i wear this one out.As for the mouse, i couldn't care less. I use the MS wireless mouse 5000, with two AA batteries because i like the feel and weight, which means it doesn't slide around the desk surface engaging the programs in unwanted clicks and pointers that i have to chase down constantly. i don't use a mouse pad. i'm also right-handed, but i use the mouse with my left hand to allow the right hand for the number pad. much less hand transition for me that way. So I give the mouse zero consideration in this review because i didn't need or want it. I just bought the combo because the mouse was basically free and the keyboard was new instead of used as a standalone item otherwise available on Amazon. I have the mouse as a backup in case it's needed to fill in for awhile. This mouse is a wired version.

Fantastic Keyboard
Almost identical in form factor to the "legendary" Microsoft Laser Desktop 600 Keyboards. The spacing between the main keyboard and the navigation keys is a a bit narrower, but part of that is due to the fact that the lower right Ctrl key is larger. Because of the way this one curves to the right side of the navigation keys and in the section that hte numeric keypad is, it results in a slightly narrower gap between the numeric keypad and the navigation keys. That said, it is almost negligible, and so far, has not caused me any problems. I give keyboards a workout, as I write software for a living, and due to the nature of the industry, also work a lot of weekends. If this keyboard gives me any issues, I will update this review, but at this point, very pleased, as always, with Microsoft's Comfort Curve line of keyboards. The spacing between keys is enough that one doesn't often get an incorrect keystroke when typing by touch. Would most definitely purchase again.

I good middle ground between standard and split keyboards
This is more comfortable than the cheap one I was using after my split Microsoft ergonomic keyboard died when my kids spilled water in it. It is not 100% natural though. I seem to hit some keys off center. It also does not tilt up in the front like my old Microsoft ergonomic keyboard. That tilt helped straighten out my wrists, relieving strain. Because it is closer to a standard keyboard shape than the split keyboards, I believe I will find it easier using my laptop keyboard than before, when I was used to the split keyboard.

Close match with split keyboard.
I have the split keyboard at work, this one matches the feel of the one at work but for me it is better. Working from home engineer.Sheerness? like the lines of a boat? Do I have to talk like a pirate?

Ergonomic and Eco-Friendly
I had switched to wireless keyboards and mice but they just consume so many batteries. That I decided to go back to wired keyboards, and I am very happy with this Microsoft wired ergonomic keyboard and mouse. It stands up to 14 hours a day with no issues.

OK Keyboard, Terrible mouse
The keyboard works and is more comforatble than a straight one, but split keyboards are more ergonomic. But the mouse is garbage (literally now), the worst non-broken mouse I've ever used. Clicks do not register unless your hand is very far forward on the mouse. This feels awkward, plus you can't use the scroll wheel easily unless you bend your middle finger far. Not ergonomic or really usable at all.

My favorite keyboard
I've been using this particular keyboard, the Microsoft Comfort Curve 3000 for several years, and after my old keyboard wore out, this new one is the same one I've become accustomed to. The keyboard arrived earlier than I expected, works fine, and was reasonably priced.

Well designed
I am very selective with keyboards. The basic ones always hurt my wrists after prolong use. I like this particular keyboard because it doesn't cause a strain. The price is reasonable for the quality.
