I would like to say this is perfect but it took me 2 tries, downloading the firetv app, a lot of patience, and a couple hours to get it to sync or pair or whatever you call it with our fire stick. It was hard to just not give up but we are finally up and running properly.

Perfect replacement for a broken Alexa remote.

As the right button of my old remote was becoming bothersomely unreliable, I ordered this remote. Unfortunately, I waited until my that button on my original remote was becoming almost unbearably unreliable before trying this new remote. It paired up easily enough, but, it did not stay that way. After about five minutes of use, it would fall offline, and simply removing and re-installing its batteries was not good enough to bring it back. I could do two things to get it back. First, I could remove the power of the FireStick and then repower it, and the new remote would be OK. Secondly, I would have to use the old remote to delete the new remote, then add it again. This is junky. However, the problems don't end there! When it is connected properly, I am subject to randomly get 1, 2, 3, or 4 activations for each press of the direction buttons. The return button is usually only 1 or 2 for each press. I didn't really use it long enough to notice issues with the other buttons, but, you've got to think that this is a systemic problem. Ouch! What a mess. Not even worthy of a lowly Two Stars, and no, I'll not buy another. Looks like I'll be forced to upgrade to a new FireStick to get a properly working remote, but I don't need any additional capability on this TV. UPDATE: The supplier read my review, then offered and provide a FULL REFUND due to my experience. This is top quality service and rates high. LASTLY: I found that I could hold down the home button for a variable time (3 to 30 seconds), and the remote would wake-up and start working, although still for a variable useful time.

Just received today. Put batteries in followed instructions and it paired immediately. Now I have save some money to get another one for the livingroom.

Bought this remote because it looked exactly like my one one. Tried everything but it would not pair with my fire tv.
