Temperatures are shown to be 20 degrees lower when checked against a Thermapen digital thermometer.For example: Tested at 205 degrees F - the strip indicated 176 F.

Easy to install. It looks like an original part of the group head on my La Pavoni espresso machine. I haven’t checked its accuracy but I now have a scale to use to make adjustments. I also don’t know how long it lasts but it came with several extras. A lot of help for a small investment.

I got these to monitor temps on the brew head of a stainless steel - perhaps chromed, espresso maker. The metal gets hellishly hot being a pressure cooker, probably a bit moist occasionally too though never soaking. I applied after cleaning with alcohol and kept my paws off the adhesive. After a few weeks using just 2 strips I've noticed that the orange heat sensitive markers have faded to the point that I'm unsure the temps are reading. I've learned to adjust my awareness of the indicator brightness but I have lost confidence in it. On the second strip, one corner tends to lift up slightly. It has not gotten worse so perhaps the adhesive is not failing, but was not well applied at that spot. But all this said, the 2 little guys are chugging along.All in all I regret spending nearly $19 for ten of these and should've bought an IR thermometer. But it does the job so all is not lost.
