The story of my brother's life
I actually purchased this book for my brother who has an underground record label, going on about 5 years (?). He said it's absolutely amazing and that he can relate to most of the things that are covered. It has a lot of great suggestions and views on running a pre-existing record label and even starting one from scratch. He has learned a lot of legal issues too that he's taken care of and this is the only book I ever recall seeing him open! And he read it in 2 days!

I Love This Book! It's So Full Of Information!
This book really is wonderful. Full of facts, anecdotes, testimonials, and great chapters that break down what you'll be facing as you launch your record label. It's so in-depth, I think it's "required reading". It's THAT good.

This book purveys a great deal of useful information
I just received my copy in the mail today. I haven't had the moment to begin it yet, but the quality for getting the "used cheap" copy i bought still looks in great condition. However, i DID have an opportunity to skim through the beginning and this book seems like from the very beginning the book purveys information that helps, allows you to relates, and shares ideas on how and why to go about beginning your own record label. I'm very excited to begin this book, for my endeavor is to begin my own entertainment company (Final Reflect Entertainment). Im already begun, but this book is going to help me GREATLY with what needs to be done and how to do it. I definitely recommend this book to anyone of the interest of making your own entertainment business.

Comprehesive and specific!
This book is far more comprehesive in it's scope than I had anticipated! Through a semi-informal style of writing, the author gives specific details and examples illustrating her points. A seminal book for anyone wanting to start a record company or become a music publisher.

Up and Down From Chapter to Chapter
This book is like a rollercoaster ride of interest. Some chapters are so slow and boring you think you might want to quit reading the book altogether. Then there comes a chapter that is just a wealth of knowledge. I am happy I bought the book and read it, but I am the type of person who loves to read every book on the subject I come across. If I had chosen this book over others, I would have been somewhat disappointed. If you are looking for books about the independent music industry, try "The Ultimate Survival Guide for the New Music Industry: A Handbook for Hell" by Justin Goldberg. It is an outstanding book, plus it comes with database of music industry information on CD ROM.
