This is not really a new game, it's Glory of the Roman Empire from a few years ago, with better graphics and missions. It is a good building game though, and nice to look at. The combat is pretty basic, so it's probably not for you if you like to fight complex battles.I privately renamed the original "Glory of the Roman Sausage", as you spend quite a bit of time dealing with complaints from your people about a lack of sausages, and they are still very keen on sausages in this one.

I am a big fan of the Caesar/Pharaoh historic city building series but occasionally I like to play something more free form. This is my favourite of the other historic strategy games. The main processes of resource collecting etc are not very original but things like the individual named family members give the game a lot of charm.Like the Caesar/Pharaoh series, this is not a suitable game for you if military tactics is an area of particular interest to you. But if you want to build Roman Cities then you will have a good time.Note: I am running it on Windows 8 without any problems.

A good game to take your mind off things. I liked the building of the city and progressive way one had to consider the needs of the citizens as one carried out the construction of the city.
