Great tool
This tool has been extremely helpful. I watched some videos on how to use it and was able to find a short in our planter pretty easily.. It’s long enough to reach from the tractor battery to the further points of the planter.

This works well enough, and can save you a ton of time
This does work for finding shorts. Had a passive entry inop issue on a door handle on a 23 Chrysler 300. Short to ground in the body harness. This saved me tons of time not having to rip the interior out to find the short or even replace the body harness under warranty if I couldn't find it which I probably wouldn't have considering how small it was. The module that sends the signal thrubthe circuit kept flip flopping between short and open which was annoying since it wouldn't stop beeping, I'm guessing it was because the wire was barely touching metal but I'm not sure. Either way the antenna was still able to trace the circuit all the way from the rear shelf panel by the back windsheld where the RFH module lives thru multiple plastic interior panels and carpet and stopped where my short was. The short was under the driver side scuff plate between a and b pillars. Do recommend for people who can utilize this tool

Makes finding shorts very easy
If you’ve ever had to find a short in your wiring, you know how difficult it is. This thing makes it so easy. I’m so disappointed I didn’t buy it sooner. This is one of the best things I’ve added to my tool box. If you regularly work on car wiring, do yourself a favor and buy one.

Unbelievably useful
I don't know why I am reviewing this cause it is like free advertising for power probe....but if it will help you decide whether or not to purchase, here is my story using it. I have been a truck mechanic since 1983, and electrical issues have always been a pain in the butt. Troubleshooting an open or a short circuit being one of the most frustrating of them all. I purchased the ect3000 recently after watching a few YouTube vids. The video I uploaded was a recent job I was working on after two other technicians spent over $1500 and still couldn't figure out what was wrong with the truck. The engine codes indicated intermittent b+ received from the dpf/doc temp sensor. I dc'd the ecm harness at the ecm and sensor, and connected the ect3k to the power terminal. calibrated the ect for close signal and within seconds, found the problem with the wiring harness. A broken wire at the connector. Saving me countless hours of harness probing with bed of nails or similar. I wish I would have purchased this way sooner. hope this helps you techs decide.
