Yes. You can remove the garment panel and use the space as a large zippered pocket.

Q: Does the baseline 21 in spinner fit in the smaller plane overhead compartments where the long side is same direction as length the plane? Bombardiers?

We find that on most smaller planes carry on pieces are gate checked no matter the size, leaving you with just your personal item to store in the overhead compartments. It would be best to contact the airline you are traveling for their specific compartment measurements as all airlines are different.

Q: What is this black hook on the interior garment panels for? And, why is one garment panel longer than the other garment panel?

The hook attaches to the outside of the case to keep the panel open while packing

Q: Does it tip over when full?

The bag should not tip over when full.

Very well designed and functional carry on

This product is top notch. I prefer it much more over the Tumi models especially that you have full space inside having the handle outside of the bag. Unfortunately we only received 1 out of 2 units ordered. But amazon solved the problem
