Step is nice, mounting not for faint of heart..
The good- the steps by themselves are a really nice alloy material with a thick coating. The texturing on the step surface will always get a great grip on your foot- there's nothing to wear off. Good reach and drop to be a functional step. Many of the newest, most stylish, and expensive nerf steps do not give you that firm step! The bad- The mounting is universal. There was a great amount of care taken to accommodate many different make & model trucks and SUVs. There are detailed instructions for all applications. There are enough parts, as well. The mounting brackets are bare grade 5 mild steel- they are going to rust. I would advise priming and painting the mounting brackets well in advance of mounting them. Chances are you will need to drill at least one hole in each side through sheet metal. When complete, I was not pleased with a bit of "moosh" to the steps. They press up onto the backside of the body panel under rocker area. Its the best you could do given what you have to work from dimensionally. You don;t notice the slight "moosh" when you step on them, but if you get down at eye height and just push on them, you will see them move as they push into the backside of the body panel. Also, these have an angle setting on them to pitch them down or upwards. You have to find the best setting by eye. In my case, the best setting would be 1/2 way between two different holes, so I chose to slightly pitch them upwards. No one else would notice, but it does feel like a better foot grip with them very slightly pitched-upwards. Again, they look level at a glance.Bottom-line, for quickly hopping-up into your truck or SUV, these are great if you are willing to take your time mounting them as best as possible, per the instructions and parts. Sloppy install is going to yield sloppy look. They do look great, though.

Heavy Duty Steps Easy Installation Black finish
I purchased 2 pairs for a 2009 Chevy Crew Cab 2500HD. I replaced round nerf bar steps with these. The install does require some drilling and the directions are actually good. The first pair took a little time, probably 1 hour. The second pair was a breeze maybe 30 minutes. They are solid and make it easy to get in or out of the truck. There is plenty of step area. I have 33" tires with a leveling kit . I think they give a cleaner look than running board steps. The steps are high quality with plenty of hardware to complete the install. Would recommend this product.

They are on, but I am positive they will not last.
They are a very attractive set of steps, but the mounting system for a 73-87 Chevy Square body or Blazer is a complete miss. The suggested mounting system is a couple of sheet metal screws into the pinch-weld and rocker. I had to grind/cut away material from mounting bracket to fit it on the inner rocker panel. I would not trust these to support my weight for very long. The worst part was calling Carr Customer Support. I spoke with a young lady who adamantly refused to accept that the product was a poor design and did not fit. I would avoid these completely!

Perfect
Husband bought these to help my (5 ft. tall) step into his truck. He paid $60 for install. They are the best. Quality, no slip and wide step area. They are absolutely perfect and wish we had gotten them sooner. Can't imagine anything better. Highly recommend.

Fits a D-21U pickup and makes the wife happy
These were easier to install than the instructions indicated but you will need a 90 degree adapter for a drill motor to drill the top holes on a d-21 pickup, you can not get a drill in on the drivers side because of the exhaust. I think the top sheet metal screw might could be replaced with a toggle bolt, it would require a larger hole but I would trust it better than a self tapping screw in that thin metal on the Nissan. I may try that later and see, the self tapping screws are bad about stripping if you over tighten them. oh and it is easier to install the screws with a ratchet than a screwdriver

easy install
lots of choices on how to hang these steps. install was quick and painless. fit on a 1978 F250. Very heavy duty, but not overly heavy. much wider than traditional hoop steps. Matte black finish looks amazing and is very durable.

Easy install. No too sturdy. Rocker panel not strong enough and steps give when weight is applied.
Overall I give this a D. The steps are sturdy, but mounting to rocker panel doesn’t work. I will have to add additional support. Other than mounting failure, the steps don’t stick out enough.
