Huge difference in helping me maintain my balance; snugger fit made easily.
I paid a little extra for one-day delivery because I wanted to replace the tip on my Exerstrider, just before a trip. I use it not as an exerciser but as a walking stick to assist my problems maintaining my balance due to a physical problem. It arrived very quickly as promised. Although it would not stay on my 1/2 inch diameter Exerstrider, I was able to add it to a 3/4 inch cane and take that instead. The Ergocap made a huge difference in helping me maintain my balance while traveling, partly because of the extra weight it added to the bottom of my cane, and partly because of the increased surface contact with sidewalks and asphalt parking lot surface irregularities. My only criticism is that the tip slipped off once at the airport and was almost lost. I am going to have to glue it in place. Perhaps a snugger fit should be available. But I highly recommend it!7/20/15 - I am editing this review to upgrade my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. Now that I have had several days to use this tip on my cane, I am ***extremely satisfied*** with the extra sense of confidence it has given me in dealing with my balance problems, due both to its heft and the clever angled wings which provide more surface than standard cane tips when placing the cane at an angle rather than perpendicular to the walking surface. I had previously knocked off one star due to the slightly loose fit, but I resolved that by wrapping the cane tip with some black plastic electrical tape so that the Ergocap now fits really snug, making the original criticism too trivial to warrant down-rating. In fact, I am going to order another one to put on my Exerstrider, now that the designer of that product sent me instructions as to how to adapt its 1/2 in. diameter to accept the Ergocap.7/28/15 After another week of usage in travel, including getting around six trips through airports, in and out of small boats, around docks and through museums, etc. I would like to add that I observed that there are three (3) ways in which I find this model - the Ergocap® **High Performance** model - to provide me with greater safety - 1) The hefty weight increases the likelihood that I will place the cane down perpendicular to the walking surface, rather than at an angle, without having to concentrate on doing so; 2) The main center surface is much larger than that of a standard issue cane tip and provides greater gripping surface; 3) The four angled wings extending out from the tips' main center surface insure that, even if I inadvertently place my cane down at an angle while walking, I am given much more surface against the floor or pavement than occurs when putting a standard tip down at an angle.

Stability Added to My Canes
Okay they are a bit heavier but not so bad. These tips have added much better contact with the surface to give me added support and less chance of slips and missteps. Glad I got these. If I didn't need the extra support I would stay with the regular tips - but I do need that insurance of not slipping and falling. Recommended.

Best multipurpose, all-weather grip cap for crutches and canes that I've ever found.
These are awesome! I got them to put on my crutches as a more convenient option than the metal flip-down ones for ice/snow. They've provided excellent traction on ice, snow, in the rain, on wet floors, and still work on things like carpet and hardwood without any fiddling with switching something around or damaging the surfaces. They fit snugly but without much difficulty to install (protip: start putting it on partway by hand, then push it the rest of the way down by putting pressure on the cane/crutch with the cap on the ground for more mechanical advantage than trying to push it on all the way by hand). The /only/ issue I've had is it tends to snag/drag a little more than a "standard" cap when going across surfaces like very plush carpets or grass, but that's to be expected.

Very stable
It was too heavy for my liking so I returned it. It did give my cane very good grip while I tested it. This end would work great for off road walking

Good at first then catching and dragging.
I put these on my crutches while recovering from ankle surgery and they worked great at first. They did make my crutches much heavier but I wanted a solid feel when I was out, so I was ok with that. After about 3 weeks I found these were dragging and catching. As soon as I took them off those issues went away. So unfortunately too expensive for just a few weeks of use. They did grip well and feel solid to begin with but wore out quickly.

SOME TIPS FOR THE TIPS
These are AMAZING! But be aware:1) It is ONE per order. If you want a pair, you will need to order TWO! Read CAREFULLY! It says ONE in the title of the item. I made the mistake of not reading carefully (whoops). No big deal, as I simply ordered another and received it in two days.2) These are very sturdy, therefore, difficult to put on! I have standard crutches and these WILL fit with a little soap or Vaseline rubbed on the crutch (just a thin layer). This will make it easier, but you will still have to use elbow grease to get them on and then push down to make sure your walking device is seated into the rubber cuff.3) These add a bit of height to your crutch or cane. It may not be noticeable to some, but it’s noticeable after using standard “feet” for a while and they might take some getting used to.4) They are a bit heavy compared to standard “feet” and may take some getting used to.Overall, these make me feel much more confident in moving around and going up and down the stairs to my apartment with my shattered ankle in tow. Worth the price for someone who needs more stability and/ or will be with crutches for a long time. Hope this helps!

Good tips for extra stability
I've been on crutches for 5 months after a knee injury and with winter starting in Boston I started looking for new crutch tips that would give me more traction and stability in icy/snowy weather. I am having surgery soon so I am looking at at least 3 more month is using crutches. So far they have worked great. They fit on my standard issue hospital crutches fine - but it took some maneuvering and upper body strength to get them on. That being said they are on so snug I am not worried about them coming off. They added height to my crutches so I had to adjust the crutch settings - something I am glad I noticed before I got outside for a walk. The design does actually help you have a more "normal" walking position. Also, even on flat dry ground I can feel that the wider base helps a lot with stability. Finally, remember that for crutches you have to buy 2! Sounds silly but I had to put in a second order once I realized they only sell them singularly.

Great safety profile
I purchased this [3rd time] for my special needs child to ensure minimal slippage and mobility safety. It works very well.
