it is a very nice grill, and I'm happy to have it.However, the first time I was going to use it..it didn't work. The fan system (heart and brain of the thing) would not turn on.Tried to get in contact with Amazon, and they just sent me to Masterbuilt.When I contacted the manufacturer, they just sent me an automatic reply saying they usually take 48h to answer.... 1 week later I haven't heard back.In the end, I was able to fix it myself. It was a stupid quality issue with a defective dial.However, this should have been caught in the factory and I shouldn't have had to spend a week waiting, trying to diagnose and then fixing with household items a new product

Ok, I love this little grill. I needed something I can throw in the back of my truck, or in the trailer to take to weekend rodeos. This fits the bill perfectly. Takes me less then 2 minutes to collapse it and put it in the truck. 2 minute setup. Not the most even cooking temps, but, shift stuff around a bit and it works great. I've done steaks, burgers, chicken, pork loin, and brats. All came out fantastic. Gets hot enough, holds temp well with the lid closed, doesnt use much charcoal.any complaints you read about getting the firestarters to stay in the holder, just get theseStanbroil 108 pcs Fire Starters, Natural Charcoal Fire Starters and you wont have any problems at all.

Ive owned multiple MB smokers. My most recent one was the MB560 almost a year ago. Still running like a champ just may need to replace controller soon. Im fully aware of the quality to innovation ratio they are known for (cheaper parts for more innovative features). Very much worth it if you employ proper care and maintenance since it could last longer than the usual 3 to 5 years for these types of products. MB has outdone themselves with this grill/smoker. 0 to 550 in 14 to 20 mins and minutes to get to other temps. Easy to clean, lid gauge is about 10 to 20 off from center mass ambient so easy to work with. Only con would be some target temp numbers on the knob for convenience but 20 minutes of playing with it and you can figure out which notch is what for when the fan kicks in. Will be my daily driver for family meals. Best thing is its portability. Works with the dewalt battery pack mod I use for my MB560, but even better is the 4xAA batteries that makes it a perfect minimalist tailgating or family camping stove. Highly recommend

The media could not be loaded. The paint on the lid’s hinges came off after the first use. I am not someone who complains a lot. As it was only cosmetic, I didn’t bother!Now the fan of the unit has failed and makes only a noise which makes this unit totally worthless!Please do not buy!Please excuse my toddler in the background toward the end of the video.If I mute her noise out this fan noise will also be removed.

This little grill is great idea, but the unit started to suffer from heat damage after a month of home use. Paint bubbled, and firebox warped from heat. Masterbuilt told me this is normal, and didn’t do anything for me. Maybe someone will make a grill using this concept that is well built. I would buy that. Not happy with this Masterbuilt product at all.
