Q: Has anyone owned this for over a year, how is the battery holding up?

Had mine several months and hadn't charged it but once. Still got alot of battery power.

Q: Can you buy a new charging base separately? I lost mine after coming back from vacation.

No. I have not seen it anyplace. You might want to reach out to the manufacturer for better results.
