Great for Summer Break
I love these books. They are very colorful and kid-friendly. Kids are guided to only do 2 pages, or 1 front and back, per day. They get a sticker for each page they do and a certificate at the end of the week. When they finish the book, they get a bigger certificate. There is also an answer key if you need it in the back. Super easy and my daughter liked it. It did help keep her mind focused over the summer without being too much.

Great for spiraling summer review!
Excellent for summer work! The pages are standards-focused and to the point. They're not intimidating or overly daunting and my rising 2nd grader has found the activities very fun. It's a doable summer routine. Two pages a day and he enjoys putting stickers on the chart when he's done. Perfect if you want a solid spiraling review to keep skills sharp, but nothing too overwhelming!

Beware of Page 43
This would be a 5-star workbook if it weren’t for page 43. If your child believes in mermaids, rip that page out before you give this book to them.

Fun way for kids to keep up their scholastic skills in the summer
I bought two of these, one for each of my twins who will be entering 2nd grade. I didn't want them to forget things they learned in the first grade. I found the workbooks to cover many topics, from math to reading, writing, and grammar. Some of the exercises I found to be a little easier than others, but the kids really like variety. They are doing the math problems learned in 1st grade, along with story reading followed by comprehension questions, sentence writing, word recognition, etc... (I also purchased the GO-Math math practice workbook, which the kids use during the regular school year. Since that is just math, it tends to get boring for them, and is not keeping up their other scholastic skills). Since the kids are still young (7 years) they like the certificates that I fill out and the stickers given for each weeks worth of work completed. I would definitely purchase this again next summer for the bridge between 2nd grade and 3rd grade.

Holds my 7 year old’s attention, easy for him to navigate
Good variety of math and word problems, reading and writing. My son is seven and about to go into second grade and he can navigate this book just fine on his own. I double check his work but for the most part instructions are clear and concise. I really like the story word problems. The math and measuring is spot on to what he was already doing in school, if not a little more challenging, which I love. I ask him to do at least one page per day in this book, and he usually gets sucked right in and keeps going which is fine by me!

Highly recommend
I used the between Kindergarten and 1st grade last year for the first time and we loved it! I now recommend these for summer learning for all my students.

Great summer workbook
I highly recommend this series of workbooks. We purchased this one and the one for 3rd to 4th grade. These keep my kids on track and ready for the next school year. It is missing a science section, but the reading passages are science themed. So, the kids still get the science concepts and vocabulary review. I like that it is designed for independent work. My child with dyslexia needs minimal instruction explanation to complete the work (something I specifically looked for). My oldest spent the first two weeks of school helping her classmates review because she "knew all the answers".

Light review for summer break.
I like how there’s just a couple of pages per day. The book breaks down into weeks. Makes it really super easy for kids to navigate and work independently. My kids know if they haven’t done a couple of pages, there’s no screen time. I don’t find them difficult, but easy enough for independent work. It’s a little something to get the thoughts going each day. Common core/modern teaching material.
