Worked straight out of the box. Short lag connecting, but works flawlessly once up and running. Great in my Mazda 2 as I have nowhere to store my phone when driving and I was getting fed up of constantly plugging and unplugging the cable from my phone.2 short sturdy cables supplied for USB A or C connection. All I need now is some sticky back Velcro to hold it in place - it would be a nice touch if this was supplied with the item.

Very compact and easy to conceal below the dashboard. All CarPlay functions seem to work and the unit connects automatically when powering up the car. Graphics are OK. There is a delay of about three seconds before audio connects when receiving an incoming phone call. On balance it is a very functional product but seems a little expensive. One wonders why Hyundai and Kia did not incorporate wireless CarPlay with their infotainment systems since they have wireless charging.

Setup was really simple, just follow the instructions and don’t update the firmware unless you really need too. Works really well. Sometimes the Carplay comes up straight away, sometimes it takes maybe 15 seconds, but it always connects. Works just the same as if your phone was plugged in with no lag. The sound quality is between Bluetooth and wired. I only say that because its much better than playing via Bluetooth but doesn’t seem quite a loud as been wired. The unit connects to your phone and uses your 5ghz signal and not Bluetooth hence the better quality. When you leave the car, it will always tell you “your mobile phone is still in the vehicle” even though its in your pocket, which I like because it just reminds you to check. Well worth the money to have Carplay without having to remember to plug the phone in every time I get in the car.

Just for the record. Despite many people telling me it SHOULD work on my Mitsubishi L200, it doesn’t. I have tried several different adapters, none are compatible.🤬

Worked fine on my Kia EV6 at start then started to be erratic, sometimes not connecting and sometimes causing google maps to freeze. I have given up on it now and just use the wired CarPlay.

Bought this and it didn't connect to the car. Contacted OTTOCAST who were really helpful and suggested a USB splitter to get more power to the unit using the two usb ports in the car. They refunded the cost of the splitter!As soon as it arrive the device connected right away. Takes about 1 minute for carplay to start once the engine is started and works perfectly and as expected. Really pleased as I bought this because my power lead connection on my Iphone is no longer working. Thank you Amy at OTTOCAST

I bought this for my Insignia 2016 to convert my wired CarPlay to wireless .To start with I really like the product , BUT: I’ve returned it after 3 weeks.Pros:1) Connects easily and quickly to iPhone and car.2) Very fast connection, almost matches my BMW wireless CarPlay.3) small size , fits into the glove boxCons:1) after using for 5 min you start getting cracking sounds. You have to press pause while playing music nearly every 5 mins. After pausing it works as normal.2) slight delay while pausing or changing the songs.3) Frozen twice in those 3 weeks, in which it appears connected but frozen on the ottocast start page.After using continuously for my daily commute. I have decided to return this product and wait if they release an updated version. If the cracking sounds and regular freezing didn’t happen, I would have happily kept the product.
