ErgonTP1 Look Kéo Cleat Tool

It works but design could be improved
It works in that my cleats fit into the hole and I was more easily able to match the fit of my previous shoes on my new ones. Overall, if you got new cleats/shoes, I highly recommend this or another similar tool but let me lean on the latter because:The fact that the left/right tabs are not separable makes it somewhat difficult to use in practice. The manufacturer says it's to make it easier to match one shoe to the other but, honestly, unless your physique is God's prodigy in that it's perfectly symmetric, this feature is probably useless since the shoes/cleats should be fit to each foot separately.Second, I wish the tool were a bit longer and wider. Longer because on my size 45 shoe, I cannot make any marks for my toe. Wider because some of my wider cycling shoes are almost too wide to make useful markings on the tool.Overall, I suggest the following. The pickings on Amazon for these clear-fitting tools are slim so you may simply be out of options. However, I do recommend shopping around on Amazon or elsewhere to find a tool that meets the aforementioned criteria.

Get a professional cleat alignment done if you do high mileage.
Wanted these to be better than they were. Good idea, maybe not that great of execution. Not all that helpful in aligning cleats to the shoes, especially since each could be slightly different than the other. I'll admit they help get them close but I believe cleat placement is so important that money should probably be spent elsewhere to get a true alignment. Did a custom "laser" alignment at a shop years ago and it made a world of difference. Put in 140+ miles a day for 30 days on a cross-country trip and with that kind of mileage, the slightest misalignment can cause big pain and joint damage. Wouldn't trust these for that kind of precision. 3 stars for the idea, and decent alignment, for what that's worth.

Way too much play
I can rotate the heel of my shoes several degrees while the cleats are fitted in this tool. There is far too much play in the system for any kind of accurate repetition of cleat placement. I love the idea here but the execution is very poor.

Wished I had bought this years ago
I followed the instructions and have found that my cleat positioning was way off. After using this tool I feel I am riding more efficiently. Regardless of any power gains, I am definitely more comfortable and feeling less fatigue with my new optimal cleat positioning. This also made it very easy when I bought new shoes and needed to place my cleats in a similar place.

Great Cleat Aid
This turned out to be very handy when putting cleats on my shoes. I think it will also be very useful when I replace my cleats. The way this device works allows consistent alignment of cleats. I recommend this device.
