So far I'm impressed with this AC. The quality seems top notch. The remote is super responsive. The window install kit came with foam tape which saved me at trip to the hardware store, and it was really easy to install. It is a little bigger than I expected but it doesn't take up too much room and the wheels make it easy to move around and store for when your not using it. As far as noise goes, it is not silent but it's also not annoyingly loud. I have this in my bedroom and wanted something quiet enough for me to sleep. When the room reaches the desired temp the fan will run for awhile which is much quieter than when it's cooling.

Does the job!
So I have a screened in front porch that spans across the whole front of my house. And I don’t have central air. So I needed something in my guess room that wouldn’t stick out over the couch on my porch. Because that would be just ugly! So I got this hoping it would cool down the room and not make my porch ugly. So, it worked perfectly! And no, you cannot sit on the couch on my porch and use the air conditioner at the same time. Some serious warm air come out of it. But we knew that. It’s winter here now, so I packed it away. If I have any problems with it next summer, I’ll add to this review. But as for now, it’s perfect!P.s. my guess room is just a regular small room and this kept it nice and cool!

Not to bad
The first years I used it it was cooling the room but the second time using it, it’s not cooling at all it feels like it’s a fan

Won’t be miserably hot anymore 😁
I just got this AC because I live in an apartment and my other AC that is built in doesn’t cool the back rooms. The room it’s in is an average sized smaller room and it keeps it very cool. I personally think it’s worth it. I like that it has a remote and the vent can move up and down distributing the air. I think it would best suit a small studio apartment or an average sized room. The AC is easy to put together and good quality. Mine did come a little broken, the drain was broke and is just a hole now so I have to keep it plugged and to drain it I have to tip it back. The company was really nice though and made it right by giving me a free plug and a discount which I appreciate.

A Disappointment
IMO, the unit is disappointing. I've been scared of portable units for years because they're infamous for having epically bad reviews online. Seriously. I've yet to find one with a stellar reputation. That said, I'm pretty convinced now that they're warranted.I have a few gripes about this unit, but the biggest is that it doesn't seem to be cooling the room as it should. It made my room sleepable last night, but not as cool as a 5k window unit has in the past. And this is 8k! My bedroom is no larger than 250 sq feet and when standing directly in front of the unit, the air coming out does seem to be cold. So I’m baffled. There's only a few things I can come up with as to why this is happening. One, the exhaust hose gives off A LOT of heat. Even though the hot air is redirected out of the room via the window, the hose still seems to emanate quite a bit of heat from the inside. Second, I don't think the fan has as much strength as a window unit, therefore it isn't strong enough to force the cold air into the room. I used my stand fan to circulate the cold air better and it helped a little.I can deal with the fact that the fan noise is loud (I sleep with a sound machine that makes pretty much the same noise), but there's this distinct buzz or humming that I don't think should be there. Pretty sure it's coming from the compressor, but it may be abnormal. I just hope nothing happened through shipping and that it affects the unit in the future. The remote works, but it’s pitiful. The temp doesn’t sync correctly with the temp displayed on the unit and the response time between the unit and the remote seems a little suspect as well. There’s an auto setting, but no eco setting so that the compressor cuts on and off to save energy. There’s a timer, but that’s not really practical in the Alabama humidity. If you turn off an AC for extended periods of time, it’s REALLY hard to get a room cooled back down. It’s best to let it run around the clock, but it’s not practical to do this if the compressor doesn’t kick on and off. 1) It would slaughter your electric bill and 2) It would wear the unit out overtime. I’ll probably just end up using the timer, because I can’t afford to let it run at full capacity 24/7...All in all, I cannot recommend this AC or any other portable. My parents have one in their bedroom (different brand). It acts as a supplemental air source as they have central air, and I don't even think it cools the way it should. Pretty convinced that portables are just crappy all around. I was going to replace my window unit anyway, but I rearranged my bedroom and now my bed sits in front of my window, so I had to switch from a window unit to portable. So I had no choice. Like I said, as long as my bedroom is sleepable at night, I’m fine. But I would like to explore better options in the future. If at all possible, I would say always choose a window unit over the portables. They’re cheaper and they work better. Win-win.

This 8000 BTU unit is fine and easy to install but I have a little problem concerning cooling problemin a 10' x 12' room size and the unit is not up to a terrific cooling and I feel I really need more BTUto solve this problem otherwise it is easy to use and very quiet. This is my conclusion .

Great unit.
I gave 4 stars on maneuverability because in order to use the ac you have to use the hose to expel the condensation and to get max cool air from the unit. When installing window kit you may have to cut the sliders to fit your window size. Over all I love this unit great for small areas like your bedroom which is where I use mine. All so this is a 3 in 1 unit A/C fan and dehumanizer. Unit is a little loud but tolerable.

The condo has air conditioning but for several reasons the master bedroom just does not get as cool as the rest of the condo
I read so many reviews before buying a portable air conditioner so I felt I needed to write one to help out others. We bought this unit for an upstairs master bedroom in a condo in Dallas. The condo has air conditioning but for several reasons the master bedroom just does not get as cool as the rest of the condo. This unit works exactly as we were hoping. It lowers the temperature of the bedroom and allows us to keep the rest of the condo at a normal cooling temperature. It was easy to install and came with absolutely everything you need...it even has a window stopper so for security the window cannot be raised above the height you select. A lot of people seem concerned about noise...I don't find it any noisier than a fan. So right now we have just used it for a week, but we are very happy with our purchase.
