For me, this is an excellent choice for making home soups!
The problem with soup that is store bought (and often, restaurant bought) is that it has TOO MUCH SODIUM in it. Even the so-called "low sodium" canned soups have about 3x to 4x salt than is healthy to eat. (unless of course, you drink your soup by the thimble full, and keep it to about 3 thimbles)So the ONLY way to go is to make your own soup at home. ONLY THEN, can you know what is going into it and you can make it as healthy as you want. What we like to do is use left over meats for making soup. For example, our favorite soup is we first bake a turkey, and have about 2 to 3 days worth of meals off of that. Then we take the above seasoning, a very large pot of water, and put in the seasoning and the left over turkey (some of which we might freeze, but usually do not because it is turkey, and that cannot be kept for more than a couple of months in a freezer)... then we add carrots, celery, navy beans (or equivalent), a couple of cups of previous boiled barley (which has to be cooked a couple of hours to soften it, then we freeze it in proper sized bags for making the soup), add in fresh basil, a pinch of oregano, red pepper flakes to taste, black pepper (fresh ground is best). Let all this cook for about an hour, and bingo, you have WONDERFUL tasting soup that is fit for a king. :-)Now, we have soup to eat for probably 2-4 more days.

This is a fantastic discovery
My only option locally for vegetable broth is the Knorr's cubes. To me they don't impart a nice flavor and the MSG gives me a headache. I wanted to try out a soup recipe for company so I went to Amazon to see what I could find. I choose this brand and not only did my soup receive rave reviews from my visitors, the product has greatly improved my day to day cooking routine. I'm a huge fan of nutritional yeast flakes - I use it, along with salt, pepper, onion powder, and olive oil, on most of my cooked vegetables. I thought my veggies were excellent flavored that way and couldn't imagine them tasting better. Well I have been pleasantly surprised with the results of adding a few teaspoons of this soup base. I like to cook broccoli this way - I use a large, wide, flat bottomed pot. I spray some oil in there and sauté chopped onions. I put the lid on so it's a sauté/steam operation. When the onions are soft and light brown I add a little water and then my cut up broccoli. Put the lid on and let the broccoli steam. Nowadays I add a couple of teaspoons of this soup base when I put in the broccoli and the results are amazing. I'm also hooked on soup this winter because of this wonderful powder. I use a six quart pot, bring about a cup of water to boil and stir in four teaspoons of the powder. Then I add my ingredients (vegetables, barley, soaked garbanzos) and more water, however much there is room for. It's so easy and the soup always tastes really good. This product is one of those little discoveries that makes my life even better.

Somewhat reminds me of chicken soup
I'm vegan, and miss chicken noodle soup. This seemed like it would work out in my favor, because I don't miss the chicken, just the warm bowl of egg(less) noodles with vegetables in a thin broth. It wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, and I had to use more of the powder then was recommended. It didn't have any chicken like flavor that I could pick out. With the noodles and veggies it would pass for chickenless chicken noodle soup, and if you threw in some soy chick'n then you might be able to be pretty satisfied with it. I will still use it when I feel the need for chicken noodle soup. It's not bad enough for me not to use, but not good enough to buy more. I would recommend it to some one who wants to make a broth, but not to some one who is specifically looking for a chicken-like broth. Something I've learned being vegan is that sometimes, you will never find a replacement for some of your old favorites, and just to find something new you like to replace them, and not try to replicate them.

Excellent healthy delicious organic soup base! Great for kids!
A friend told me about this product. She is very health-conscious when it comes to food for her kids. One of her kids has allergy, so she has also been looking for good gluten free food products. She first found this line of soup base in a high-end food store in the East Coast and tried it out. Her whole family loved (and still loves) it. She sent me one as gift a few months ago and we tried it out and my kids love it too. We used to boil meat and vegetable or 2-3 hours and used the soup to cook food for the kids. This was very time and energy consuming. We tried other soup bases in the past but the kids complained about being very thirsty after drinking those. This one is great. It saves us a lot of work and the kids still get healthy delicious soup! I recently found it on Amazon & bought 5 different flavors. The order arrived within 2 days with my Amazon Prime membership and we now can enjoy the different flavors.

Tastes GREAT
I don't write many reviews yet read a whole lot of them. I have been slowly weaning my hubby off of meat and meat stuff for a long time now. This usually means that I cook two meals most nights. At least I no longer have to use seperate bullion. this tastes like the REAL deal according to my hubby. He can spot a substitute from a mile off and he didn't pick up on this till I told him. I made chicken noodle soup (added real chick at end for him and TVP for me) and the same broth, noodles veggies etc for both. HE LOVED IT. PS the "beef" tastes just as good, made a nice gravy with onions and made salsburry steak for him and salsburry veggie burger for me. It also passed muster.

I keep this for when I do not have the time
For a year now, I have gone through a complete food/health overhaul. All my meals I now take the time to make, thus I know what is now going into my body. However, some nights I am just tired or have a lot of work, or just under the weather. I can throw this in water and have some awesome rice, or just have a quick mug of broth and throw in a few veggies. It is nice, I can have quick food, but without all the chemicals, hydrogenated fats and everything else that is often added to these kinds of foods.
