Q: Are the straps stretch?

Yes. Unfortunately, I start with these straps as short as they can go, so when the elasticity begins to suffer a little, I find that I am stuck with straps that are too long. :/

Q: Ok so i typically wear a 36dd. but upon measuring myself i measured 32” band and 39” in bust. that would mean i’d purchase a g cup. is this right?...

This store arbitrarily adds 4" to band size , so yes.. but only for this store and other brands that follow outdated practices like this.

Q: Does size 40D have 3 hooks on the back?

My size 40D had only 2 hooks, not enough for a D cup.
