Some of the dance schools have using this book in their course, i heard from my colleague.Beside your contemporary dance training or anatomy class, nothing bad to understand the history of dance.Josephine Baker might be your teacher's teahcer's teacher's teacher. :)

ダンスの変遷に大きな影響を与えた人々が書いた文章からの抜粋がまとめられています。おそらくアメリカの大学のダンスの歴史クラス用に編纂されたテキストだと思います。手に入りづらい本からの抜粋もあるので、とりあえず英語でざっとおさえておきたいという方には最適だと思います。ページ数が多くないので、サラッと読めると思います。
