Picks for professionals but exceptional for all levels.
I've been playing string instruments for twenty years now(mostly guitar, but also piano/mandolin/violin/banjo/bass.) Since I started playing guitar, I've used conservatively at least 100-120 different picks in all shapes, sizes, and materials. I've been using the Jalapeno for the last month for electric/acoustic/classical guitar, and on my a-style mandolin. To confirm my bias or lack thereof, I bought 4 other V-picks, and have been comparing/contrasting with other 1.5mm picks (Dunlop 1.5 delrin is my prefered for jazz/bluegrass). The jalapeno has Incredible tone considering the material, and though I don't think the holes are needed for grip, I appreciate that it takes a little of the weight/heft off. Unlike most other triangular picks(rounded , round-tipped, and sharp tipped) all three sides are perfectly balanced, and it's just smaller than any other triangular pick, so it's comfortable for me, and I'm just 5'5. The fact that it's as good or better than wegen picks on mandolin and I don't need to carry different picks now is really just a coincidental benefit. Before I get to my only complaints, my last compliment is that very few picks stand up to weeks of constant playing on guitar and mando, without wearing down or at least getting small nicks in the side that catch on thinner strings. Not a dent on either of the jalapenos I've been using, and none on the fusion picks that I tried out either. I tried the tradition lite, but felt like the one side was good but the rest of the shape didn't feel balanced. I tried the green small lite vpicks as well since I thought they were just jalapenos but a bit smaller, but the tips were way too sharp and brittle/harsh on steel strings, or as firm and stable on nylon.Cons:1. I'll echo other reviews that the color is a huge detriment. Difficult to see in a headstock pick holder, and a disaster if it falls or slips into a chair in anything but hospital-grade lighting. If V-picks made the jalapeno in a shade of purple, I'd buy 10 instantly.2. For a pick this specialized, it really should have an option for a multi-pack. First because waiting for the slow shipping means it'll never arrive when you need it most, and if you're in a city that doesn't have a music shop that carries them, if you lose/give away or otherwise need another one there's nothing comparable unless you count the Deandrea rounded triangle pro plec 346, but even that is wider and honestly feels just a bit thicker. If anyone's interested in a quick video clip comparing it with some similar models, just let me know.

This is the only one I use. Would be nice if it came in chartreuse. Hard to find on the floor.
The Jalepeno is the only pick I use. The shape and ports in the surface create a great no-slip feel so you can focus on playing and not your grip. The pick is rigid but the surface is smooth allowing dynamics from hard plucking to soft strumming by changing the angle of attack. I find no use in a pick that bends and this one doesn't.

Nothing really special about this pick for me.
This pick is well mAde but what I paid for se 2 picks was insane. If they brought the price down to anywhere n=ear reasonable then maybe?

Great Pick!
IT is more money then I usually spend on Picks, but it is a great Pick. Easy to hang onto with the air holes. I recommend.

Best picks in the world.
Do not buy these picks through amazon go directly to v picks. Amazon and the usps just make up fictitious tracking numbers.the only way i got these is when i called v picks and spoke directly to vinnie smith

The thickness is perfect, I thought I had lost it
It's the" just right" pick for the instrument. The thickness is perfect, I thought I had lost it. Found it.
