Once again a brilliant read!!!
Where do I start, I guess from beginning. Have been waiting for this book for awhile now and as big lover of romance books I have to say this one didn't disappointed. This book is part of The Italian, but can be read separately, but makes more sence and easier to understand if you read the Italian first. Now Ferrara, this book has it all for romance lovers. I have read many books by TL Swan and I don't know how, but every time her books blows my mind and this one is no exception.I loved reading the story of young Giuliano and Francesca. Their ups and downs and trying to find their way in life.Giuliano had to take over the family business very unexpectedly while learning who he really is.When reading this book I couldn't put it down and was simply mesmerised by the story. If you haven’t read any books by TL Swan, now is the time and believe me once you read one, you won’t be able to stop until you read them all.

Italian, the new language of love!
The latest offering from TL Swan continuing on from the story began in The Italian. Giuliano Ferrara is now in charge of the Family business and yes, that’s family with a capital ‘F’. In one short moment everything he thought he knew about his family and who he was, was turned on its head and he’s lost the girl who was looking like being the one for him. Now there’s no one he can trust except for a few childhood friends just at a time when he’s at his most vulnerable.Spanning a period of 10 years this book is filled with twists and turns as Giuliano cements his place as the undisputed head of a criminal empire, all without the love of his life by his side as deep, dark secrets and disapproving family vie to keep them apart. When Giuliano and Francesca do get together the chemistry between them is scorching with the forbidden element adding a hint of spice to their encounters. And forget French being the language of love - after reading Ferrara it’s definitely Italian! No one writes an alpha antihero quite like TL Swan does so if you love a bad boy and the thought of redeeming him then this is the book for you.

Forbidden love… mafia wars and hot alpha males… loved it
Although this is a standalone title and can be read as such, I strongly urge you to read ‘The Italian’ before you start this amazing book. It will give you a bit more background to the family and what the Ferrara legacy is all about. If you have already read The Italian… like me, you probably read the first few chapters with a bit of an “uh-oh” feeling in the pit of your stomach… because you already know the secrets that will drastically affect their relationship. The first few chapters focus in Giuliano and Francesca as young lovers. It shows the depth of their instant attraction and just how much they love to each other. She’s the beautiful but overly protected sister of a mafia boss who isn’t allowed to date or even leave the confines and security of their mansion. He is a bit of a playboy with a reputation. He’s the beloved son an English mother who gave up her life in England to marry her Italian lover. Giuliano is bold, arrogant and confident… until it comes to his Chesk. She makes him change into the person he wants to be. His beautiful innocent Francesca. But life is about to become complicated beyond what anyone could have ever imagined. For the Ferrara family… life will was never simple or easy. And now with the startling revelations that follow the murders of the oldest Ferrara brother and his wife, everything Giuliano believed to be true is turned on its head. He’s a Ferrara… and the love of his life… his Francesca is now forbidden. To take on his new birthright, he must give her up. He must let her go.The book then jumps 10 years and the devastation left behind still weighs heavy in their hearts. As much as they’ve tried to move on, there is something that holds both of back from moving forward. A deep desire still burns… smoulders beneath the normality of their lives. When word reaches Francesca of Giuliano’s mothers sudden death she feels compelled to reach out and returns to Milan from her home in Paris for her funeral. When they meet again for the first time, the chemistry and fire is still there between them. The feelings they have for each other are still so strong but they know they can’t have each other. They are brother and sister… it’s wrong. But neither can deny their feelings. The more they see each other, the harder it becomes. Even walking away doesn’t work. The pull is too strong. The desire too much to refuse.Despite how wrong it is, their love feels so right. It’s killing them to be apart. They are soulmates. Destined for each other. Made to be together. But there are truths to be discovered and nothing is at it seems. Could it be that what is forbidden is no longer a barrier? However, with the truth comes more danger and now Giuliano has something more important and more precious than money could ever bring him. Francesca. There are a lot of twists and turns in this amazing book that really keep you gripped and hooked in. It is a real page turner that I couldn’t put down.Ok… so some of the twists I had already worked out, but they are still clever and certainly keep you guessing. There are a couple of anomalies that I can’t quite work out… such as who was Dominic and where did he go? And then there’s Alex’s very quick recovery from falling down the ski slope and smashing into a tree. This is yet again another fantastic book by this extremely emotive writer. You love everything through her characters. You live the story… you walk side-by-side with Giuliano and Francesca. You feel every emotion. You feel their heartache, their love, their pain.I can’t wait now for Valentino… that should be an interesting tale to tell.Amazing book. Highly recommend everything this author writes. Seriously one of the best writers in this genre. Loved it.

I get it
There were some other reviews about a book related to this one that mentioned something being off even though its a great book, and I have to say the same for this, I gave it 4 stars because it IS deserved, this story had me on the edge of my seat a lot of the book even until the end and for different reasons, sometimes I wondered where it was going especially when they seemed OK as a couple and there was still a good 30percent left. But there's all sorts happening and I was invested! The chemistry was great but I have to say, some of the writing wasn't great, it wasn't bad either, I think it just seemed too fast paced sometimes for the respective scene, then there was the back and forth on who was really either of their dads? Also I had a couple minor questions at the end....what was the police guy trying to tell giuliano? What was the true version of his dad? Maybe that ones answered in what I now know to be Enriques book. But more importantly, who the hell was the guy who she worked with and ended up disappearing? Was that just page filler? A possible threat that turned into nothing just to keep us guessing? Either way, you will be hanging on to see what's what in not just a love story but a mafia tied family with a mix of friends having their own pov
