I went between this and a couple of other "more sophisticated" looking lap desks. I really just needed something so I can work on my laptop on the couch without my neck hurting. This thing is awesome!!! I just got it, but the angle puts the screen just where I need it, and for the price, it really is a no-brainer. I'm so glad I bought this. Simple and effective.

I’ve been using this Mind Reader Lap Desk daily and nightly for the past month, and honestly, it’s become my little MVP. After my kidney transplant surgery, I packed it in my luggage for the 3 weeks I stayed at the hotel, and it was pure gold. Lightweight, portable, and comfy with that cushioned bottom and exactly what I needed to rest, read, eat, or watch my shows without stressing my huge abdominal incision. If you want something practical that just makes life easier, this lap desk is it. Highly recommend!

The reason I am writing this review, is that I myself rely on the reviews to decide whether to buy something or not, so I am trying to be as objective as possible. :)This Lap-desk is really convenient, lightweight and enough sturdy. The plastic material is hard, it doesn't bed, and at the same time is light. The different angels allow me to use my MacBook Air while sitting or even laying down. I've used the desk also for writing and reading in bed, and it is also convenient. I am using it already a few months and it is as new, I believe it's a durable product.The cushions are very comfortable, indeed, which makes the usage pleasant.The reason I am taking off one star, is the non slip ledge, which would have been really convenient, if after the first few days the glue under the ledge didn't start literally "melting". It leaked under the strip and made my laptop's lid stick to the base, and it left this sticky material allover the top part of the lid. I tried adding a different glue, but nothing helped. Finally, I pealed off the ledge and spent one hour removing the sticky glue from the desk. Pity, that is a nice feature, but I don't want my laptop, especially around the camera aria, to be damaged. (See my pictures for illustration.)Apart from that, I do recommend the Lap-desk as a very convenient sturdy and durable tool for working while sitting or in bed. It will fit easily 13", 15" and even 17 " laptop.

This is a perfect lapboard. When growing up, we had lapboards that had a sawdust cushion and a hard top. I love them, you could sit in any chair enjoying the company of your family while working on small projects, homework, etc. I hadn't seen anything like that in years (certainly not as an adult). I've gotten to the point where my kids are old enough to not need constant attention and I'd like to do small projects while in the company of my family during the evenings. I wanted a lap board for that purpose. This product met my needs perfectly.Pros:1) The cushion underneath is comfortable and allows the lapboard to sit stable on a lap while sitting on a couch or recliner2) The adjustable top piece is pretty sturdy, and very easy to move but stays in place once set. Positions all have a useful purpose3) The lip at the bottom that can be moved in if you want a completely flat surface and out if you want to catch items while the top in inclined is great4) I've used this product for multiple things and it's worked well for each: Working on my laptop, writing notes, drawing sketches, needlework projects, etc.Cons:1) The lip does not have a catch like the adjustable top portion. Its not a big deal, but when I put the lapboard away, the lip always flips out.2) I wish the lapboard was just a bit larger. The size isn't bad, as it will fit a medium sized laptop, but it would be nice is it was 4-5 inches longer

The Mindreader lap desktop is an amazing and affordable device. It's durable and practical, making it perfect for use around the house or in the car. I own several of them and appreciate their versatility and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable lap desk!

I bought this in order to put some distance between my body and my iPad when I am sitting and reading. I've become more concerned with having electronics in direct contact with my lap/body and read that it is a better idea to put some distance there. Having said that, I also know that this lap desk doesn't solve all problems for those concerned with emf radiation, etc.I will say, that health concerns aside, this has made reading/using my tablet so much more comfortable. I love that I can adjust the angle of viewing easily. The cushioned bottom of the lap desk is very soft and comfortable on my lap, even on bare legs. I am also using it for reading books and it just carries the weight of the book and puts it in a perfect position for reading. I would imagine that it would also be nice for a lightweight laptop such as a Chromebook.It would also be good for people who like coloring books (adults and kids alike) or doing a little sketching, perhaps.The plastic seems quite thin. This makes it very lightweight and portable. I think it is lightweight to the point of feeling flimsy and cheap, but only time will tell how this will hold up. Right now I love it, it works fine, stores easily and if in the future it breaks under normal use, I will come and downgrade my review.

After a few months the cushion came off I glued it back on. and noticed the sitches that keep it in shape became unwind and it doesn't look so good. still ok, good to keep laptop on it when I'm on the couch so my body doesn't burn from the hot fans.
