PetSafe Martingale Dog Collar with Quick-Snap Buckle - Petite, 3/8 Inch, Deep Purple

Pretty color for my pretty JRT puppy. Matching leash, and she can't pull it over her head. I bought a few of these so when she chews them I have a backup.

I thought it would be much smaller than it was. Which is my bad for not checking the sizing more, but it does fit and works as intended. I’ve not had any issues with craftsmanship or durability.

Nice collar, but tight buckle makes it difficult to remove.

Not all Martingales are the same, even if labeled "Petsafe". This exact collar came on our newly adopted dog, and the collar lasted more than 3 years. I had been looking for the same style for quite some time. Most stores carry larger sizes only. Bought Amazon's smallest size, 3/8" width, for our 7-pound pup, and it's perfect. The side clip for easy on/off is a must, much better than other over-the-head designs. Safe, easy to use, comfortable!!Bought this collar in other colors because price is so reasonable. Delighted to find it on Amazon!!

The collar itself is a good collar... however size up as when the martingale part closes it may wind up being too small. That is what happened to me... the one I received is too small and will likely never be used...

I reviewed a lot of collars, trying to find ones small enough and in the right colors,before I ordered these. Then I almost returned these because they were way too big. Thankfully the tags say they are adjustable, and I remembered that was a selling point for me too.So after getting a good look at them, and sliding the silver piece over, the collars snugged right up, and fit just fine.Hopefully, with these Martingale training collars on, my FurrKids will learn to walk nicely on their leashes. I'll send an update later.

This is nice in theory, but it doesn't function. The collar doesn't release well at all after you've "yanked" it closed. Our training book (monks of New Skete) says you should pull swiftly and immediately release the pressure, so it's a quick tightening around the neck of the dog. It doesn't choke the dog because you can set the size of the collar to close firmly around the neck, but not so tight that it chokes, When you tug it's supposed to be a reminder not to pull on the the leash. However, after you pull this to tighten the collar and then release, the collar stays tight. I had to bend over to his neck and make it looser every time so that I could do the next correction. I think this is because of the friction of the nylon on the metal hoop, or the hoop is too small - it just doesn't slide easily enough through to loosen as soon as you slacken the leash. In other words, this thing is useless.I ordered another martingale collar that had a chain as the smaller second loop. This tightens and loosens very easily depending on the tautness of the leash. I recommend that instead.

I board dogs and require several different sizes of Martingale collars. These are the best. Recent purchase of size medium was for a thick-necked French bulldog. Thank you, Amazon, for letting me try 2 different sizes. The medium was perfect.
