Works great - even beyond the recommended limits
For many years, I have been using an 8-foot countertop as my desktop. It was supported with six metal legs. I used this UPLIFT frame to convert my 8-foot-long two-person desk into a sit/stand desk. This frame is strong enough to support the desktop with several monitors, a heavy desk lamp, and all the other miscellany on my desk.Although UPLIFT's guidelines state that this frame can be used on desktops up to 96" (8 feet) wide, I believe the intended use there is to have the frame centered, with a bit of desk overhanging either end of the frame--the frame (with rails attached, as pictured) only extends to about 74 inches. In other words, if I wanted to keep the rails attached for full support, I would have to center the frame under the desktop, and it would not work so well for having two people seated at the desk. It would be perfectly fine for a one-person desk, though. I have foregone the use of the rails and set the desk legs at the outer edges of my frame, so they are not connected via the rails at all. This still provides a supportive enough platform, but I won't try to test the limits of my desktop (a wooden butcher block style of countertop). Even with this setup, the motorized legs smoothly and powerfully adjust the height as desired. The memory functions are great for ergonomics. Once you find the ideal height, you can save it and never have to think about it again. This is a very high quality product for a reasonable price, and I would gladly recommend it.

Great frame
Assembled very easily and glad that it came with sticky cable ties to help organize the cables. However, it is a bit on the pricey side compared to some of the alternatives that you can get.It feels fairly sturdy but becomes less stable the higher it goes (like any other frame). The control works fine but wish it was possible to buy it with the other control here on amazon so you wouldn't have to look every time changing the height. The motors run smoothly but sounds a bit plastic compared my previous desk (reviews also show that the insides are plastic - like many other frames apparently).A lot of different holes / options for mounting additional equipment to the frame. The cable management tray is a big plus.I like the C-frame over a T-frame, but my knees sometimes hit the electrical box and frame underneath the table when sitting in alternative positions even though it sits fairly flat / flush with the frame. I wish it could be installed somewhere else than in the middle of the frame where your knees are positioned.I am so far very happy with this purchase.

Bring your own walnut desk top with inlays
I love this desk. I find I come home from work and sit at the computer to check a couple of items. I end up glued to the chair. With the standing desk, I walk away, as I should.I am a woodworker. I like the idea that I can buy just the lift mechanism, which includes legs. I put a temporary top on it, as soon as it came. I will make a good quality walnut top this fall.I put a wire shelf underneath. This allows me to keep my cables tidy. I can lash the cables to the shelf, and the cords can enter and exit at any point. This keeps the cords in a steady state, even when the desk is raised and lowered. There is no chance of them catching and pulling out as the desk is raised and lowered. The assembly instructions are written well. It appears they were written by someone who uses English as their first language and is a knowledgeable mechanic, not an engineer.

This desk will happily crush items under it
If the desk's sensor notices a collision on its way up (such as touching a curtain), it will descend with collision detection turned off and crush everything in its way down. I push my chair under my standing desk when in standing mode. I pushed the preset button to raise the desk, pushed my chair under while it was rising, and the desk decided to descend which crushed my chair and tipped the desk over sending my monitors into the wall behind it.Why collision detection isn't enabled on the reaction to a collision is a mystery.

Initial Impression is Great
Updated Review 2/11/20: I still like the desk, but REALLY dislike the non-illuminated buttons on the keypad. It's a miss at this price point to have to turn on bright lights in the room to see which button is which. They all feel the same and without backlighting it's tough to guess what will happen if you push in a dimly lit room.I put this together a few evenings ago and am excited about using it. After lots of research and comparing to what I could find in person, I'm comfortable that this is the best option out there. I put it in a den at home and look forward to being able to stand at it when I need to check something and not get sucked in to sitting down and wasting time at the desk.On assembly, the directions were clear, but I was a bit surprised how broken down it was. Yes, it was a 2-person job, and yes, we had to lay on the floor. Part of the sturdiness of the finished product comes from heavy steel pieces that need to be bolted together. It took us about 90 minutes to get everything together, it would be about half that to do another one, knowing the process now.For a top, I'm using a cheap IKEA desktop as a placeholder for now. This winter I'll make a hardwood top and install it, but I wanted the flexibility to have a top that I could trim and get down to the perfect size for my space, first. If you're on a budget and live near an Ikea, buying this frame and a top from IKEA would be about the cheapest option for the best, in my opinion, adjustable height desk.
