Giving it 4 stars because, as the stars are labeled, 4 means "I like it" and 5 means "I love it." That's exactly the case here. We've had it about a week and it has been working fine in our small fish pond. Comes on when the sun goes down and stays on until the battery is depleted. I really do wish it was brighter though. If they had made the solar panel a tad bigger and given the battery extra capacity they could have gotten another watt or two out of it, which would have made a big difference. I would have gladly paid the extra few bucks. As it is, it really and truly is not very bright. Also, be aware that the color is "cool white." Our landscape lights are warm white, so it looks a little funny in contrast.

I just received this couple days ago. I wish it had a better on/off switch so you can at least tell if you turned it on or off! It seemed pretty bright the first night on my small pond. Last night it seemed dim. I need a few more nights to figure out if its working as described. Quality seems really good.

Im pleased with it...it doesnt say its a soft light for ambient light not a spot light but enough at night. Got it in my talapia tote...has a long cord....its helps wouldnt get another though..I need a tad more uhmp!

This is an excellent product. I bought one to see how it worked and then bought a second one. The light is high quality. It is weighted so you can just toss it in the water and it lands upright on the bottom of the pond. The listing didn't say how long the cord was. I haven't measured it but appears to be about 8 feet, which is long enough to put it anywhere in the pond.

This might be bright enough for a small fish pond or as an up light for a tree, but it is way too dim for a large pool. The light does not float and can flash or simply stay on.

I purchased this to illuminate my American flag. The illumination lasted about 6 hours after charging all day, on a sunny day. Dimly on, after a cloudy day. Next to no illumination, after a rainy day. It stopped working completely less than a year. It was a cheap lesson and experience on the major limitations of solar lighting, battery life, weather patterns, sun movement but now I have to find a green way to recycle, reuse or dispose.

Easy to use and drop in pond. Long cord so solar panel can be hidden.
