I will never write a review on any electronic product or gadgets without first waiting for at least a month. I am making one time exception for this desk lamp. Writing this review within 20 minutes of delivery.Extremely well packaged. If you are old like me then sit down on the floor and assemble it. Takes five minutes to open the package, assemble and turn it on.Base is heavy, guessing it must be about 3 pounds of metal with anti friction pads. You just can’t topple this lamp. I tried to push my laptop to see if I can move or topple this lamp, laptop glided over the base but lamp didn’t move even a bit.Desk to top of the lamp is about 18 inches. For typical 14” laptop, led bar is about 8 inches above top edge of the screen. Even if you are tall and higher on a chair, the led bar is still above your eyebrows and would not obstruct. Perfect for smaller desks. Illuminates usual laptop, and about 18 inches on left and right. If working with two monitors, I would recommend 31 inch clamp on version (twice as powerful) from the same manufacturer.Now most buyers will use it for working on a laptop but it’s equally great for reading. I tried reading a newspaper, ordinary book, glossy advertising material, books with glossy pages and in each case it was a delight to read.How about holding a phone or a tablet? Works equally well in “normal” handheld positioning of the screen.Touch controls are as they should be: a gentle touch and function performed. Retains memory of last settings. Adapter is 110-240 V, so can be used overseas (with appropriate pin adapter).Overall impressed with the build quality, form factor and ambient light sensor feature. Sitting next to a window, bright sunny outside and as it toggles smoothly between cloudy to sunny, the lamp makes instant adjustments giving you a constant illumination.Now most important questions I had:(1) does it put glare or flicker on laptop screen? Not at all (of course if you deliberately flip laptop screen beyond 120 degrees, you will start to see reflection of led bar and a glare).(2) does it cause strain on eyes? My first impression is no, it won’t, because of light sensor and adjustable color temperature. You might need to play around with optimal settings. I will update this review after putting it to test for couple of weeks.(3) does it give out any subtle humming? No it doesn’t.Now there is another brand selling almost identical lamp for the same price and has equally good reviews. This one stands apart in one feature: look closely at the led bar picture on the product pictures. This one has led head in triangular shape making it easy to see the buttons.That said, here is my wish list:I wish that the LED bar was made of aluminum instead of plastic. I posted this question and other users have confirmed that it barely gets warm but not hot.I wish that there was some sort of indicators to display selected brightness level and color temperature.I wish that 12 months warranty is explicitly stated in the thank you note accompanying the lamp. I did ask this question and the seller confirmed it’s 12 months warranty.I wish it was not as expensive but it does deserve some premium price for its quality.Update after using it for one full year: still going strong. Zero eye strain. Up/down buttons have different functions (single press: step change) and long press (smooth transition). This hidden feature wasn’t mentioned in the manual. I still love the fact that light intensity automatically adjusts itself based on bright light, twilight, blinds up/down, direct sunlight etc. very few desk lamps have this feature which makes it a good buy.

A superbly designed and engineered LED lamp for your office desk, or to to illuminate keyboard and desk area. Whether used over your monitor or laptop, or for general study and desk workspace, it offers a very even light with soft edges of illumination to the left and right, and perfect lighting right below (and to front of) lamp. Balanced and very stable, with a 15cm(d) x18cm(w) slimline rounded-edge metal base-plate. It stands naturally at approx 50cm tall, and, with a flexible silicone neck, is adjustable from approx 40-55cm. The flexible neck has same profile and colour as the upright lower powder-coated metal rounded rectangular riser which is firmly secured to the base-plate, via 4 screws (and a Phillips head screwdriver was also included! Wow!). Width of slimline lamp bar is 46cm. Includes a 24V/0.5A power supply, and generous lead to connect to Aussie 240V.Assembly is so easy, reflecting the attention to every detail and user-friendliness.The output light itself is very even and fantastic!! The brightness level is fully adjustable, in realistic incremental steps of brightness up to a max of a very bright 700lm, or down to a low soft level. The colour temperature can also be adjusted from 3000K to 6000K (warm white for evening work, to a bright white light for daytime work, or anywhere in between in 6 levels). On the front of the horizontal light bar itself there are discrete touch controls: on/off, an eye-care Light-sensor Switch, with an ambient-light sensor: this function can be activated so that light level is auto-adjusted, or it can be turned off, in which case you have a manual brightness button. Brightness is gradually dimmable by long-pressing the button. The instruction guide is very helpful and comprehensive, and in 3 languages: English, German, and Chinese. The manufacturer (KableRika) even supplies a help-email address if you had any questions or problem. Finally, I noticed one more happy and surprising item in the box: a beautiful 'thank you card' from the manufacturer!I feel these people/designers/manufacturers have gone *above and beyond*! And I would give them 10 stars if I could.Amazon delivery was very fast.If it comes on sale, and you need a good desk lamp, just get one (or two!). I am extremely happy with this high-quality LED Desk Lamp, and would recommend this to anyone.

I have a built in desk, 9 feet long with overhead cabinets in my home office. I purchased 2 of these lamps to provide lots of light. This is my 3rd attempt to find something that would work well, and these work great. They can be adjusted so that the light does not shine in your eyes. They have several different brightness levels and several different warm/cold colour levels. I highly recommend these lamps. They are of an excellent quality. They are also modern and stylish. Enjoy!

I needed a lamp for my home office where I spend 10+ hours a day doing computer work. The track lighting on my ceiling stopped working and electricians are scarce. I did a lot of online research before deciding on this lamp and I am very pleased with my purchase!The advantages are the ability to vary the light color and intensity and adjust the angle so that my computer keyboard and the surrounding desktop are well illuminated. There’s also plenty of light to see what I need in the rest of the room. The lamp is sturdy and well constructed. It’s sleek and unobtrusive in appearance. It came packaged with everything needed for installation including a screwdriver! Within minutes, I had put it together and was using it. The only issue that I had was very minor. Because I have a very large monitor, I had to position the lamp behind my screen on top of several books so the lamp could illuminate my keyboard. However it’s been very stable using this approach. The version of the lamp that can be clamped to the desk may be larger and avoid this issue, but my desk is built in to the wall and I needed the lamp with a freestanding base and not a clamp. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this lamp and see it as a superb value.I should also note that it was delivered quickly. I rarely give feedback to sellers, but this lamp made me so happy that I made an exception. The sellers responded to my positive feedback right away and seemed very responsive and eager for people to have a good experience with their product.For all of these reasons, I highly recommend this lamp and plan to buy another one for my work office now that we have to return in person.

At $60ish dollars, I thought the price was a bit of a stretch, but purchased anyway because reviews tended to mention the superior build quality. I want to add my voice to this chorus of praise: the build quality of this lamp is pretty great, and it fits tight in on my workstation. I like to keep the ambient illumination in may area lower, so that it is easier for my eyes to read stuff on three different computer LCDs. But I also like to have an illuminated patch off to the side, where I keep a notepand other printed materials.The light parameters of brightness and chromaticity are independently adjustable, so it is easy to find a setting that suits you, and once you have, it will automatically recall that setting every time you power it up. The fact that these are LEDs means it gets pretty bright without generating a lot of heat. Also, the illumination is not intermittent, so there is no flickering out of the corner of your eye like with industrial flourescent tubes. It makes for an overall pretty awesome lamp.Finally, the whole device is not very bulky, so I have it mixed in with the other stuff on my desk top, and it doesn't block my view of the tack board behind it, and the "shade" makes a long horizontal band that is easy to line up with other horizontal contours in the area, making it seem to disappear into the background where it does tis job without calling attention to itself.I'm gonna give this a 5 star rating, but I do have quibbles. First, there should be an auto-off timer, maybe defaulting to 2 hours or something like that. Another feature that would be nice is making it controllable with bluetooth from my smartphone or computer. Finally, I want to use it to attach my smartphone and hold it up off my desk with the display facing me so I can see if a text comes in from my wife, for example. For that purpose, I added a bit of 3M hook and loop to the vertical support, and have a corresponding bit on my smartphone case. This works great for me, but it wouldn't be hard for the designers to add a couple features that make it smartphone-friendly: a USB-power port and bracket to rest your phone on.But like I said, these are quibbles, and not really complaints. Get one and see if you don't agree.
