Bachmann Industries makes model railroad products including train cars, train kits, tracks, scenery and model railroad structures. The Bachmann "Snap-fit E-Z Track" model railroad tracks are designed to get you up and running trains in a quick and easy manner, without problems of track alignment or missing electrical connections. While many professional railroad enthusiasts use flexible track or hand-laid tracks, it's better for younger kids to get the trains up and running rather than fooling around with exacting details. "Snap-fit E-Z Track" provides that ability. Just align the track pieces, push them together and the rails line up and are electrical connected with the locking pin preventing the track sections from coming apart. The rails are already mounted on a molded "roadbed" (available in either traditional grey or in black) and the tracks work well on carpets, smooth floors or plywood layouts. Recommend getting these various size sections of "Snap-fit E-Z Track" for layouts you might build that are just a bit short when you put your tracks together so that you avoid "kinking" (rails not being perfectly aligned) that will cause train derailments. (It's never a good idea to "force" track sections to connect up when the rails are not perfectly in line. You'll make yourself increasingly frustrated every time the train derails at those points. Tracks should lie in a natural position with no strain at the connecting points or with rails misaligned.) These small sections can also be used when you need to fill a small distance between a turnout and another side track. Ten sections are included at a good price.

Really a big help making my layout fit

When building a model layout these come in so handy. No Matter the gap needed to fill you can use one or combine 2 and have the right length. I ordered a second set

Mixtures of standard, #4, #5 and #6 turnouts cause all sorts of mismatched lengths with parallel tracks. This set of short track sections solves most of those issues.
