Alpine Corporation Eco-Twist Energy-Saving 3000GPH Pond Pump with 33-ft. Cord

The media could not be loaded.  So far so good. I purchased the 1500gph pump to replace a loud/dying pump in my pond. Water flow is nice, very quiet and super efficient operation. Old pump would fluctuate from 180 to 250 watts - this pump shows up as 38 on my kill-a-watt which is spot on. I have whole house energy monitoring and it shows a nice reduction in power usage as well. I figure with the savings the pump will pay for itself in comparison very shortly. Video of flow rate and size of pond attached. Pump flows from filter tank to 2" pump under pond back to falls. There is filtration media in pump tank and in the waterfall as well- happy flow rate is as good as it is at power efficiency that it still circulates and filters nicely. Installation was a breeze since it came with adapters that fit right in existing pumping. I didn't bump off filtration cage as others have reported, but I will be buying a filter bag to wrap it in hopes it will last a bit longer since I have an aggressively growing oak with heavy pollen and leave drops over the pond that I'd like to better keep out of pump - leaf catcher in front part of pump area catches a lot but degraded materials seem to get through.

Purchased the Eco-Twist based on its low energy consumption and it certainly lowered our monthly bill compared to our old electricity-hog pond pump. Not sure how other reviewers measure the water volume the Eco-Twist pumps per hour, but our pond is about 3000 gallons and the Eco-Twist keeps everything circulating just fine. The 3-year manufacturer warranty is reassuring and Alpine's customer service is great. When we did have a problem with our pump, one quick call to them and they shipped out a replacement the following day.

I chose this pump for the good reviews and the energy efficiency. I use it in a small backyard pond. It worked well. However, I am really disappointed with the cover. It is held in place only by a couple plastic tabs and falls off anytime I move it; which leads to me pulling it out of the pond to re-assemble it. On one occasion I was cleaning near the pond and gently tugged on the power cord. This led the cover to fall off and the pump sucked up a rock and rattled through for a few seconds until I was able to pull the plug. The pump now wobbles a bit and doesn't seem to work as well as it used to. I would steer clear of this model and choose one with a stronger cover.

Just got this put in for the front yard fountain. So far works great.

I got tired of replacing Pond Master pumps and decided to try this one. I like the extra long cord and it comes with pvc adapters to fit different size water tubing/hose. It was lighter than I expected. It took me only 5 minutes to connect it and start it running. I have only been running it one day but it appears it will be reliable.

Arrived on time .Pretty much the whole thing is nothing but plastic! The pump is very quiet that is the only good thing I can say. I hot tired of putting the strainer back on it so I got some wire and wired it on. I've had A lot of different pond pumps and this one pumps maybe half its rated volume. It's a below average pump for the money. I'm disappointed if you couldn't tell. Hope this keeps someone else from making a mistake.

Excellent pump, I measured the amp draw and it is as stated. Plenty of pumping power and very efficient, 1/3 the wattage of comparable flow pumps. Well worth the additional cost considering the 3 year warranty and the ease of servicing the pump.
