An invaluable guide to social media and its best uses
This is a sharply written and highly insightful book. If you have found social media a somewhat baffling and perhaps intimidating space (as I have), this is definitely the place to start. You will learn a great deal about its power and best applications. The authors start with some intriguing premises about the value of social networks, build upon them, and show how you can make use of them. This book is clearly and concisely written and an invaluable resource for nearly anybody. Students also will find this an excellent way to understand this field and its applications. I will also add that, as the author of three books, I find this the style and organization admirable.

Highly Recommend This Timely Book
As buyers and businesses become increasingly sophisticated both on- and offline, a new sales model is sorely needed for salespeople and small business owners in the digital age. Such a model is provided by Tim Hughes in this must read book. He explains why social selling is essential for anyone who wants to increase sales by using the interconnected world of social media. Many tools and strategies are laid out for targeting potential customers, forming relationships with them, and closing deals. This is a far more successful approach than going in "cold" as many traditional salespeople and companies do.Tim Hughes also discusses the vital importance of C-level executives making the change from analogue to digital sales. Unless there is a top-down approach to this change, it can only have limited success. It also suggests that the hiring process itself has to change, as salespeople with integrity and a genuine passion for social selling will be far more successful being "social" in a digital world than salespeople who are faking it.All in all, this is a common sense, groundbreaking book that should be read by anyone in sales who wants to take full advantage of our digital age.

Absolutely practical book on Social Selling
I am a programmer and I created my social media account and website just to build my brand. I didn't not have a vision of how to use my website and social media to build my brand. This book provided me a clear vision for me on how to promote myself in internet world. The book clearly explains1. Potential of social media in branding.2. How to use different social media for different business needs.3. Technology tools to use that will make your life easy.4. Vision and plan on how to promote your brand on social media.The authors are proven marketing people and you can follow them on twitter. The depth of details in this book is very impressive. I read this book twice and still planning to read it one more time to understand. This book is not just for companies to build their brands, it is also for individuals. Individuals tend to make their social media profiles to attract recruiters and this is wrong, this book provides strategies to promote yourself as influencer in a community. If you want to get smart in social world then get this book.

I can't think of a better teacher or coach
I would imagine others feel as I do ... that we woke up one day and what we thought we knew about "sales" had suddenly begun to change in big ways. I had been hearing rumblings about "social selling" but had no idea how to get started. Tim's book is outstanding. It not only explains how we got here, but all the whys and hows around embracing this brave new world ... and actionable specifics on what we must do now and each day going forward. I can't think of a better teacher or coach. Buy this book and you will jump start your Social Selling immediately. One of the best "sales" books I've ever invested in.
