I stumbled across xkcd when I was studying engineering in college. I delayed many homework assignments working through the backlog. I started reading the what if blog from the beginning. Randall Munroe has a way with words, and a way with numbers. Seeing him applying many of the very concepts and technical I was studying in school in creative and unusual ways while having fun with the process was a very enlightening experience compared to the generally dry and dull approach in most textbooks. Come to think of it Munroe textbooks would probably be a game changer.It's fun. It's sciency. It's a great book.

Great fun reading - unset NOT try any of this stuff - ever…. Good questions from inquiring minds with too much time on their hands. Could easily see a TLC/Discovery 2-year run of programming bashed on. these monuments to curiosity- great job

Not as unique as the original, and the questions are getting a bit repetitive, but still a great read. Fun, intelligent, and a bit wacky. Loved it!

I received the original "What If?" book as a gift in 2022, and my son and I loved it so much we bought the sequel.Munroe's wit and humor blend wonderfully with his scientific knowledge, applied to the wackiest inquiries from his audience. The simple and elegant illustration style are perfect!We love these books, and will likely be looking for another installment when we finish this one!

If you know what XKCD is, you have probably already decided to buy this book, and you don't need this review. If you don't know what it is, check it out online, then come back and buy this book. And buy the first one too. Actually, just buy all his books (we did), they are all excellent, and my tween/teen kids love to re-read them every few months. Randal Munroe always delivers top tier science humor, while secretly educating you in a super fun and amusing way. Is 5 stars enough? No, it's not, but it will have to do.

Grandkids still use these books 10 months after receiving them.

Well here’s your answer. No, we can’t stack ‘em, can’t eat ‘em, can’t build a nuclear bunker out of ‘em.…OR CAN WE?That’s pretty much the essence of this book (but I guess you already knew that)

It's fun and you learn several interesting things

Much like the previous title in the series, What If? 2 offers a plethora of insightful knowledge about our physical reality in the form of a bunch of detailed answers to the most absurd questions anyone could think to ask. Recommended to anyone desiring to learn more about the universe while having great fun.

A very good book that tells how to breakdown problem, analyse it and find out answers.The First version seemed slightly better though. Mr.Munrow seemed to be taking a bit of "shortcuts" in the version -2.

While What-If 1 was a surprising hit, the second one definitely built on the hype of first one and kept the going with the base thought, that made the first one so good. It's really like 'don't fix what isn't broken'.I really enjoyed it and highly recommend to anyone who liked the first one. Even without reading the first one, it's a great standalone book too.
