Spellbounding - I couldn't put it down!
I live in Rutland, VT and during the storm and my power out; I went across the street to my neighbor's. If it wasn't for their radio I wouldn't have known "we were trapped" in Rutland. Little did I know the "deluge" that was going on outside Rutland until a few days later.I know the author Peggy Shinn and know some of the people in Pittsfield through mountain bike riding. I bought the book as soon as it was out! After the first chapter I couldn't put it down. The author put into words and brought to life what I couldn't imagine when people were telling me what they went through 2 years ago and are still going through today.I have a friend that has been an academic writer for years. I asked her if it was normal to see reviews like this. She stated she has never seen a "Do not buy" on a review before and was astounded at the level of negativity. I certainly didn't find them helpful at all.

We travel frequently to Vermont and love the state and the people
We travel frequently to Vermont and love the state and the people. Deluge showed Vermonters as they typically respond to adversity, never whining just doing what needs to be done. If you know and love Vermont, you will love this book!
