These are survival bars. That is their sole purpose. If you are looking for a very tasty treat, these are not for you. They have a subtle coconut flavor. When taken as directed you will have a 3 day supply of 1200 calories per day. To supplement your supplies these would help. I would consume these with soup, coffee, tea. I have wrapped mine with clear shipping tape in order to avoid accidental breakage of the vacuum seal. Once opened you a have a year to consume or throw away. The supply I just received, unopened, is good until 2029. These provide no protein. So find a long shelf life protein source.

The flavor is good. They're a bit dry but that's why they store well. Just a sip of water makes a difference.

I haven eaten these, I just have them "just in case", you know it doesn't hurt to be prepared. I cant comment on the taste or if they will keep you alive but having the peace of mind that they are here if my family needs them is reason enough for me to give a good review.

I keep a variety of brands and flavors in my survival bar cache. Datrex bars are individually wrapped rations. The rest of the bars on the market are flour and fat molded in multi-ration blocks.The mild coconut flavor of Datrex is pleasant.
