Good quality product, nice shine and leaves hair manageable

I've been looking for a replacement for my previous matte hair paste, American Crew Fiber, ever since American Crew changed their formula and Fiber had significantly less hold than before (requiring nearly twice as much product for the same amount of hold). I found the perfect replacement with this product (Kevin Murphy - Night Rider Matte)! Not only does it hold significantly better than (the new) Fiber, it also has the exact same scent, which I love.I also tried four other matte paste products that were recommended to me as an alternative to Fiber, but I found their scents were way too "perfumey" and would give me a headache. I love the subtle citrus-y scent of Night Rider/Fiber. Ultimately I ended up returning all the other products (thanks Amazon), and stuck with Night Rider. I've since re-ordered twice.

I have 4c hair. I used it to smooth my edges. Definitely has great hold, left no caste, dried matte, lasted all day. The second day the hold was diminished BUT still significant. No flaking. I liked the smell.I think its great for a night out, function, wedding. Not for a weeklong style if seeking perfection.

This paste is excellent - it allows you to shape your hair how you want it without leaving it looking like a hard plastic shell. I usually apply a dime-sized amount right after towel-drying my hair after a shower, and that gives me enough control to style it how I want and then be able to reshape throughout the day by simply running my hand through my hair.I started using this while trying to find an alternative to American Crew Fiber Pliable Molding Creme For Men 3 Ounces, which left my hair greasy and heavy at the end of the day. Night Rider eliminated that problem for me. Granted, it's more expensive than AC Fiber, but the quality is worth it in my opinion.I've used this paste for about two and a half years now, and I haven't found any other product that comes close to this level of control while also leaving my hair light and not shiny. The only negative I've experienced it that the paste can be a little difficult to wash off your hands, but that is a minor inconvenience at most. Great product that's worth the money!

Good product for holding but if you have any water kn your hand it clumps up before applying even when rubbing your hands together. I wish they applied the scent from this to their other Free hold product and it had the consistency of that product as well

This hair product has amazing hold, even when applied in small amounts. It also has a matte finish, so your hair won't look shiny or greasey. I have thick hair, and this is about the only product I've used that can hold it up the way I style it. I couldn't find this in any local salons, and before on Amazon it was going for nearly $50, but I bought this for half the amount, what a steal!

I’ve tried a lot of products on the market and Kevin Murphy is the best, by far. I use this and Rough Rider, Kevin Murphy product, bad thing I can say about Rough Rider is it is hard to wash out. I also bought the Night Rider product to compare because I was looking for comparisons on the two online but couldnt find much, the Night Rider is easier to wash out, looks a little bit wet (non-matt finish) and doesnt hold as well or as long. If you are looking for a matt, natural strong hold look use Rough Rider, if you are looking for a slightly damp look and a medium hold (goes a bit sticky if you use too much) then use the Night Rider paste. Both great products, and I still use the Night Rider when the occassion suits but Rough Rider is the best on the market for matt strong hold and moveable throughout the day and Night Rider for a damp look with a decent hold.
