ARTEGRIA Watercolor Brush Set, Sizes 2 and 6, Round Quill Mop Brushes with Fine Tips, Soft Synthetic Squirrel Bristles, Short Handles

I’ve wanted to try quills for a while. When I saw an artist I like post a very favorable review….that encouraged me to give these a try.They are great! For me, it’s everything I love about a round watercolor brush times ten! The brush holds so much paint, yet keeps a point, making fine lines like I’ve never seen before. I’ve been painting a little more than a year, and have found my go-to’s over time. These are now part of that handful of favorite utility brushes that are used in almost every painting.I’m very pleased with the two sizes. The larger one is a great replacement for a 10 or 12 round. The smaller replaces my 6 or 8 round.This painting was done almost entirely with the quills. I’m in my second year of painting and the painting is from my own reference photo.There are still places that I pull out my rounds, but it’s so much easier to continue painting with the reservoirs in these quills. Rounds have a finite width, and are still my choice in small areas.These quills are work horses!

Nice quill brushes. They hold plenty of water. They are very soft, not stiff.

Great brush and a great value. Works as well as my $$$ brand. Lots of water pickup and still has a great point. The size 6 is way bigger than the usual round brush size 6. Closer in sizt to a round size 12.

I purchased this set of quill brushes because I saw a tutorial comparing these to another larger set by the same brand. While they out performed the larger set of rounds, I wanted to see how they compared to Silver Brush Limiter Atelier squirrel mix brush #10.These Artagria Intuition Quills out performed even the more expensive Silver Brush Limited Atelier, both in water and pigment capacity and the other important feature, the fine point!. The fine point on the Artegria Intuition brushes was far better than that of the Silver Brush… I will be returning the Silver Brush for sure.
