Success!
The carpenter bees arrived as they do every year, my trap was hanging in place, and after two weeks no bees. Researching other traps and techniques online I came across this attractant that I had never even considered. Eureka! Within 48 hours of applying some of this "love juice", I had two carpenter bees. Now it has been a week or so, and there about 10 dead bees in the trap. The weather has fluctuated between warm and cold days and I notice the bees are not out when it is cooler and windy. But yesterday was sunny with temps in the 60's, and two more bees went into the trap!Thank you for this product! As a side note to those of you trying to get rid of these destructive pests, the placement of the traps can be very hit or miss. With this lure added and bees clearly active in the area, I would give a location about 3 days before trying a different spot. Also, while you see a lot of traps hanging from a hook and string, bees don't seem to enjoy getting sea-sick, they would prefer a stationary home that doesn't sway with the wind.I have 3 traps now, all armed with Donaldson's lure, but only one of them is catching bees. I wish I knew what type wood it is made from, as it came from a craft show years ago and appears to be made from the trunk of a small cedar tree (reddish in color) but it has not turned gray after years of hanging in the sun as you wood expect untreated cedar to. It is also somewhat decorative, made to resemble a bird house complete with a little nail perch under the front bee hole. Maybe the bees are getting smarter and recognize a plain square box with holes in it as a trap(?) My second trap is made from old shipping pallet. It is taller than it is wide and is an octagon shape, slightly taller and bigger around as a 20 oz water bottle. It has captured a few bees here and there over the years but none so far this year even with the lure. The 3rd trap I made a couple weeks ago from a small cedar tree trunk. It is aromatic cedar and so far I haven't attracted bees to it even though there are many surveying that side of my deck. Trial and error shall continue, but this product is certanly the key to my success so far-- I've NEVER caught more than about 4 bees in any one year and I'm already up to 10 in late March...

ineffective
This product was 100% useless. It was used on two of my carpenter bee traps and my neighbor's bee trap. Bees in the area showed no interest in going in. A mud dobber wasp flew in one of the traps and built a nest. No bees seemed to be attracted by the bate.Changing the location of the traps gave the same result...no interest on the bees’ part. They flew near the traps but took no interest. Two traps were old and one was brand new.Do not know why the product did not work.

Awesome stuff!
I was very doubtful, but sure enough I baited 4 traps and caught 8 bees.

Not 100% successful
1. Only marginally successful, but it does catch some carpenter bees and reduces the number holes in the fascia/siding. 2. The traps needs to be put out and baited in the early spring. For VA, that is mid MAR thru early APR. One bottle/year is enough for a single family house. If you try to use a leftover bottle the following spring, the attractant does not attract (It says this in the small print, but the print is very small). 3. This brand is expensive and there is a niche here for other manufacturers to move in and sell a less expensive product. The cost to repair holes offsets the attractant price.

When ordering just the 2 traps, the bee solution is not included
The jury is still out. The solution evaporates quickly. It did not attract any carpenter bees in the first location. Move the trap to a different location and added more solution.

Do not purchase.
Doesn't work. Followed all directions no Carpenter Bees were attracted to the traps. Had better luck hitting them with a tennis racket.
