Beyond The Ice: The Case For and Against 'Die Another Day'

The task of defending the most unfairly maligned movie of the Brosnan era
Great essay in which the autor, while not sugarcoating the movie's shortcomings, manages to give a compelling case of reassesing the last entry of the Brosnan saga

Good background information and analysis on the 20th James Bond film
I found this book very interesting, as it offers plenty of analysis around the development of Die Another Day, including the political situation of the time. The book is not as detailed as "The World of Goldeneye" from the same author, but still worth reading and enjoyable to read, too. Perhaps future editions could elaborate a bit more on how the people involved in the film or the music reacted to the criticism, or how Pierce Brosnan views his contribution to the series. But overall, highly recommended for Bond fans!

Amazing!
Beyond the Ice Review: A fantastic analysis and evaluation of Die Another Day and how world events + pop culture influenced the movie. 9/11, the 'Axis of evil' (North Korea) and films such as The Matrix and Mission Impossible are important mentions in this book regarding the influence they had on DAD. The book gives credit where it's due and explains in depth why DAD is a product of its time and why the small changes (such as 'Speed Ramps') were necessary in modernising Bond for the new Millennium. If you are a Bond fan (who probably dislikes DAD), this book will gives a fair and balanced evaluation and why this film is the way it is and make you think again.

Well thought out
A well reasoned and presented discussion that shows Die Another Day is not as bad as 1st appears - certainly less self indulgent that recent films.

Well-researched academic analysis objectively covering every element of DAD from all angles and with very comprehensive historical and cultural context.
