Garbage. Faulty stands, had mine replaced and the replacement was faulty too.
The stand looks nice, but it's garbage. They have a thumbscrew that keeps the rod in place, except the thread is damaged. It's impossible to tighten the thumbscrew. It just pops out of the thread every single time. I had my first order replaced, and the replacement had the same problem. Normally stands don't put a thumbscrew. Instead, they'll thread the whole center portion to be a twist lock. Don't know why they design this stand this way and how it passed QA. See photos of what I'm talking about.

Great stand, but might not do the trick for VIZIO S5451w-C2 5.1 Home Theater Sound Bar with Subwoofer and Surrounds - see review
These stands are good. The product came with different bases and screws for some types of speakers. It does cover a wide variety but not all, so it may/may not work for you. It is just a simple universal stand for surround speakers and it will not be perfect as all others (in other words, stop crying about how it was not good and so on... >.>)I bought these for the VIZIO S5451w-C2 5.1 Home Theater Sound Bar with Subwoofer and Surrounds. I don't know about the 42 inch version but for mine I tried using the 'L' shaped base and it didn't reach the whole where the screw goes in the speaker. My only option was to put it sideways, so knowing the bottom of the speaker is usually heavier and it might fall sideways, I put two bases together as shown in the pics. This was a good idea but it is just a work around. You might want to buy another stands for these surround speakers instead of this one. Also, the screws that come with the stands don't fit the whole in the speaker, so I used the ones that came with my VIZIO S5451w-C2.They might look like they can fall easily but it is not always the case. It all depends on the speaker weight and how you put it. It says it supports up to 10 lbs. so take that into account. I included a pic of the product's box. It is exactly what I saw in a store which name I will not mention at $79.99 (I bought it for like $66 here).Remember, not all products are perfect and you might/might not be better off with another product, but I can say THIS IS A GOOD PRODUCT.

Emphasis on LIGHT WEIGHT satellite speakers
I have two other pair of Sanus bookshelf speaker stands. Those two pair are very sturdy. This pair of stands is less so. By design these are intended for lighter satellite speakers. They are rated for speakers up to 10 lbs. I'm using them with a pair of Axiom Quad-4 surround speakers that weigh in at about 9.5 lbs. These stands will barely hold them up (with some problems at that). The problems are the size and weight of the base is marginal for speakers of this weight. THere is substantial risk of tip-over. If you have young children or rambunctious pets, you will not likely be satisfied with these stands unless you have very light speakers. The second problem is the plastic screw that is used to hold the height adjustment. It's just not beefy enough to consistently hold speakers that approach 10 lbs. To solve both problems, I had to deploy my speakers in the lowest height position possible to lower center of gravity and get around the height adjustment screw.. In my room, that's OK but otherwise I would have had to return these and look for something more substantial in design and weight. Overall I can only give this 3 stars. The quality and sturdiness are definitely less than my Sanus bookshelf-speaker stands which are fabulous.

NOT FOR QUINTET III's
PROLOGUE: I am referring to the Klipsch Quintet III speakers manufactured from 2005 to 2009. The greyish/black speakers. The new 2009 Quintet speakers have a different shape and finish (piano black) and are uncertain if they are more compatible with the hardware supplied with these stands.I bought these stands exclusively for the Klipsch Quintet III's. After reading a lot of the reviews and the manuf. website and everyone saying that they come with the Quintet brackets, I picked them up. After hooking them up I realized that they meant the quintet speakers, the predecessors to the Quintet III's. The old quintets must have been more square than the III's, which have a sloped, more roundish speaker cabinet. The Q3's screw hole WILL line up with the brackets Sanus supplies, however, because of the angle of the bottom of the Q3's speaker, the speaker will be angled back and most likely shooting sound well over your head.COME ON SANUS SYSTEMS, GET WITH THE PROGRAM! These speakers have been built since 2005!You can jimmy the hardware by placing wedges below the resting plate and behind the speaker bracket to push them forward a bit and it seems to work. They look great however, very clean. They come with many different brackets including 2 different size flat plates that you can just rest a speaker on as well as a bracket that you can hook a speaker on if it has a nail hook on the back and let it hang down in front of the pole.***Update***8/10/09 I have been in touch with Sanus via email. They have been very responsive, had asked for pictures of the problem, and had their engineers review them. This was their response: "At this point in time, they do not expect to change the adapters. There was mention of checking with the speaker manufacturer on the "direction of the drivers," or which way the sound is actually directed on you speakers. It may be projecting in a different way than it appears. If they truly project upward when mounted on our stand, and it looks like the tube is already lowered, the stands may not be compatible. I have a model HF1 that includes the same speaker adapters, but has a tilting stand tube as well. Perhaps that might solve the puzzle.(me)--> Hi, thank you for your response, your customer service has been very impressive. I would like to make a suggestion for improvement. When advertising that the stands fit a certain speaker, perhaps a more precise description of the particular model might prevent this from happening to someone else. The literature (and the website) might be a little outdated as there are currently 3 different models of Quintet speakers available.

Any Three-lag base is not stable.
I have Polk Audio S10. As I thought the three lag stands will never give you a stable position, as it could do any other base shapes. The most weak sides are the left and right sides. If you are planning to set this stands as back/secondary speakers by your sofa, you better go with some other base shapes. But to be honest, there are not a lot of stands with the fixings out there. All good stands are created for Sonos speakers.Besides, the stands thamself made well. Also, if you have thick speaker wires, it maght be a trouble to push the wire through. The steel Fish Tape will be a helper.
