Works BUT poorly machined
Mine came with large burs in the area where the cylinder nut sits. The burs were so bad that the cylinder would not slide in. Once deburred it worked fine, but then what's the point of having a nice red anodized surface if I have to FILE IT DOWN?I worked in a machine shop for a while, and this type of seriously sloppy machining is just not excusable. The bur protruded 1/4 inch into the nut space so it could not have been just overlooked, it was intentionally ignored! It was anodized on top of the bur so clearly there were additional processing steps where this could have been caught. "Just let the customer file it down" is not the right attitude, especially when this can be easily corrected inside a CNC or filed manually at the factory for an additional 30 seconds of work. I heard awesome things about INCRA but I can't trust a company that is this sloppy on finish. Not sure if I am going to try more INCRA products... :(If this was a purely cosmetic flaw I may have overlooked it but the cylinder would NOT slide in so it was a functional defect. To their credit, once it was filed down it worked fine. And, it only took me 60 seconds to file it down and fix the problem. I know that anyone who buys a "build it" hold down clamp is obviously handy with tools and has equipment to fix machining flaws. The point is that I expect a quality finish and ready-to-go product and this item did not deliver on that front. So even though it only took me 60 seconds to fix it I am calling them out on delivering a product in unusable condition.UPDATE: I have since purchased other INCRA products such as their marking rule Incra T-RULE12 12-Inch Precision Marking T-Rule and have been extremely satisfied so the company is not all that bad.

Pretty good.
I bought two of these clamps for my woodpeckers drill press table. They work fine. All parts are of nice quality. Some have complained about the plastic knobs with pressed-in steel nuts. Yeah, an all metal knob would be better, BUT would undoubtedly make this product considerably more expensive. I see no reason these knobs won't last indefinitely unless: 1- knobs are defective 2- excessive torque is applied to them. Mine look to have been nicely made and have not failed me so far. Replacement knobs are cheap should it ever become necessary. I might even elect to use wing-nuts.My only complaint is with the bolts. Unlike other reviewers, I find the included bolts to be plenty long enough to clamp 95% of any materials I'd ever need to drill. Of course, if you commonly work with really thick or irregularly shaped material, you might be stuck buying longer bolts from the local home center. With that said, the complaint pertains to the bolt heads which are "hex" shaped rather than "T" shaped. This makes them move through my T-track less smoothly, and they sometimes get somewhat stuck. Its a small annoyance, but an annoyance none-the-less.

The great quality you'd expect from Incra
Man, I wish INCRA stuff would sell a little cheaper ... but you DO get what you pay for. This hold-down is just awesome. I use it on the back-fence for my table-saw sled, to hold-down items for cutting.I have never purchased anything from Incra that was not fantastic, and this is no exception. These guys know what they are doing.

Nice quality
This works very well. It is very nicely and solidly made. I had to remove a burr and an upset corner where it must have been dropped to allow the pivot pin to go in, but other than that, it's great. If clamping a good piece, a spacer block should be used because it is easy to dent the wood with the clamping pressure. I didn't realize it was intended to be used in a T-slot extrusion the width of the bolt head. I wanted it for my drill press, so a couple 1/4 x 1 fender washers added to the bolt made it work out just fine. I only bought one to try, so will be ordering another or even more.

These work GREAT!!!
I saw that 3x3 custom from youtube built a jointer jig using these. I ordered some and used them to make mine. These work great, and they will hold your lumber in place way better than some others i've used. I highly recommend these.

Clamps down easily, slides in the slot well, pivots cleanly
In your best Arnold Schwarzenegger accent: I clamp things, and hold them down.I installed an Incra slot in my workbench, and having this clamp to hold things down is nice, if a little pricey.I do need to get some longer bolts, because it seems relatively common that I want a larger clamp than the default screw provides. I also try to use these on my radial arm saw, but the bolt is definitely too short for that (I have to run the bolt all the way through the tables, no sliding slot in the saw table, because I'd probably cut through it accidentally some day..)

Still Poorly Machined 5+ Years Later
On August 9, 2013 another verified purchaser reviewed these. That review describes the burrs and sloppy workmanship much better than I can at the moment (I am still angry--they just arrived this afternoon).I bought four of these, and wish I would have read that review first, there are other clamps on the market. I have two the Incra T-Rulers and a Protractor, and am very pleased with them, hence no hesitation in buying these clamps.C'mon, guys, after almost 5 years you still can't deburr your own work? Quoting the review from 2013, "The point is that I expect a quality finish and ready-to-go product and this item did not deliver on that front."Dear Incra, Please contact me through Amazon to arrange a visit from someone from your QA management team. Tell them to bring small files; they will need them for the burrs. I will provide coffee, they should bring their own donuts. You cannot ride on the reputation of your better quality products forever.Sincerely,Dissatisfied Customer
