It works, and its less than half the price of the manufacturers own brand. I was worried about screwing up my expensive refrigerator, but these work just fine. If Siemens charged a 20% mark-up, I'd buy theirs, but they don't. After 6 months the light came on to replace the one I installed. The second would not connect, so I put the first one back in. I wrote (emailed via amazon) to Aqualogis and they offered a refund or replacement without quibbling. I got the replacement, which connected immediately. I've re-ordered another 2 today.There is no real trick to this. You unscrew the filter (turn left). That needs to break the vacuum seal, which you won't hear. Any water that spills is from the filter. When you screw the new one in (turn right) it will eventually cover a switch that opens the water valve and seals the connection. You will hear it very clearly. If you don't hear that noise you haven't quite screwed it in far enough to cover the switch. Don't try and force it. Just move it smoothly back left and then right again.
